Short answer, yes.

Long answer: Even WoW has a limited shelflife. Simply because we haven't seen the end of it, does not mean it does not exist. There are two kinds of WoW player : those who've already burnt out, and those who will. Even if Blizzard were to not release a new mmo, the fact is that eventually other people on the market will bypass WoW in terms of attractivness, gameplay, quality and innovation. Just because that has yet to happen, doesn't mean it can't, or won't.

i disagree completely with ur burnt out comment... i have 'burnt out' of wow about 3 times, but in a few months you start craving again, and you go back to it, WoW is legend... there may never be a game to out do it...

I think blizzard have realized that wow is coming to a standstill, people are walking away from the game because it is so repetitive, get gear, level up , new dungeon comes out , clear the content beat the encounters you name it, then eventually a new one comes out, yeah beating the encounter as a team is fun, but long term people will walk away from it.

WTB diablo MMO !

Wouldn't a Diablo MMO be similar to WoW? Level up, Get Gear, Level Up, Get Gear...

Well look, burnout can be permanent or it can be temporary. I've recently picked up the game again and am enjoying it but I'll be honest, it's not because i heart wow to death. It's because everything else I've played so far is either crap, or niche. I'll probably put wow on the backburner when the next 'short term' mmo like Champions comes out (ie something i play for a couple months then dump and go back to wow). I'm waiting for that next big thing, and when it comes, I'm gone. Yes the game is legend, yes I enjoy playing it but I have no loyalty towards it. I play it because it's currently, the 'best' (subjectively speaking - some people who enjoy purely pvp may enjoy WAR more, for eg, personally i've always preferred a healthy mix of archetypes). As soon a ssomething truly better comes along (holding out for ToR) then WoW gets permanently deleted off my harddrive.
