Hmmm not to sure on the titan panel, though could that be the amount of Memory the mods use? What is your memory for addon's set to?

I know Cosmos says I'm running out of Mem even though I know its now impossible, Keep on planning on loading the Titan panel mod and keep on forgetting when I get home :) IT really has made a big difference for me, It was that or a new Vid card and RAM seemed the better option now until I can get upgrade to PCI-E. My frame rate has almost doubled just from the RAM, and no lag flying anywhere anymore either, and Alt-Tabing out happens in blink of an eye. Last night I never even got the load screen when catching the TRAM in SW, I just ran though and I was in

I think you might be right I have my addon memory set set to 64MB, for item matrix, titan probably reflects this. Sounds like another gig will do the job cos currently alt tabbing out is a lengthy affair. Was saving for another graphics card will have divert the funds to more memory

i am running my XMS @ 210Mhz, ie. 420 bus speed and its the max my mobo will go... happy with it at the moment... but extra RAM is looking to be my next buy...

I am too scared to go dabbling in the BIOS, machine runs fast enough for now hopefully some more RAM will see the performance shoot through the roof :D

i'm sure its just 25meg for the mod, i have 768meg of very average ram, & system mechanic prompts me to recover ram at least once per session. i'm not upgrading ram just yet, i'll do it when i get a new mobo.
On another issue, i'm a bit concerned when i hear that people are getting crap latency on adsl. I'm about to upgrade from isdn. at the moment i'm getting between 250 and 550 almost all of the time. I'm not gonna be happy if it slows down.

I have an unshaped account with SAOL, my latency is generally between 450 - 550 to EU on a busy server. Thing with ADSL is it tends to get a bit crap towards the end of the month when everyone is trying to cap out. Mine peaks out at about 900 during this time but it happens in spikes that don't last very long.

If you can't afford unshapped (R499/4gig with SAOL) Try Nuke's VPN solution guys have been raving about it

So... I may soon be taking the ADSL plunge... afraid I'll be looking to do a lot of downloading though, so I'll opt for one of the high cap offerings rather than unshaped.

Just wondering what latencies are like these days on shaped ADSL? Specifically EU servers if possible, as that's where I'm playing...

In other news: My Dunemaul Druid just hit level 40 the other day, woooo.

Slow-motion druid

 Thanks guys for posting these complaints here. I have read through them all and now I identify a similiar problem I have with WoW.

I registered my account 2 and a half weeks ago and have been very active, playing in the realm of Terenas (EU) with (currently) a lvl 21 druid (Faille, guild: Highlords Assasins).

I am very angry today because the game has become completely unplayable due to inexplicably high latencies (3000ms - 5000ms+).

I have the following system specs:

Intel P4 CPU 3GHZ
MSI Radeon 9550 128MB
1GB 400MHZ DDR RAM
ISP: All you can eat 30GB
ADSL: Telkom 512kb

No programs are running in the background.

I queried a friend in-game. She also has ADSL 512kb, but uncapped. Her latency at that time was 30ms. Mine has never gone below 900ms, and it hardly ever stays there for longer than a minute.

I have attempted to add a post to the WoW-EU website, but to no avail. (There at least two hundred replies to the thread already).

I played Half-life 2 Deathmatch on the net soon after disconnecting from the server (which took five minutes) with minimal problems.

How can this be? Why do I pay a monthly subscription if this is what I'm getting?

WoW is a superbly satisfying game, but this....!?

Faille its got nothing to do with your system specs. It beacause everyone has a bandwith cap and there all trying to use it or something at the end of the month, so lots more people are playing. Ive got shaped ADSL (3 gigs) so when i get WOW, at the end of months ill chuck it aside and play GW! :D

bad international performance is not limited to WOW, its for all international games, when this happens.

Yeah but not for Guild Wars thanks to thier 'unique streaming techniques' or whatever. And also because most of GW is instanced.

Erm.. wrong again, the same performance drop happens in GW as with WOW.. When international latency to Europe/US on shaped accounts get screwed, its not game related.. no matter how the game is designed, you will feel similar affects.

The only difference really would be that GW can handle higher ping much easier than WOW, since it is very much timebased compared to WOW which in comparison is way more realtime. (Hope you get what I mean with this comparison)

Ruin My Dreams!

FINE Clipse RUIN MY DREAMS!!!!!!!!!! :( Sorry I DONT GET YOUR COMPARISONS BECAUSE I CANT SEE IT THROUGH ALL THE TEARS THAT CLOUD UP MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :(

No im joking I have no idea what im talking about. I thought that if GW is instanced its like an online single player, so you dont have to get all the information from the server on other people and mobs and all those stuff because you have your own copy. Oh well.....guess its back to Neverwinter Nights while WOW servers are down. WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT! I dont even have WOW or GW yet. *sob*. 5 more working days............ONLY FIVE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Dramatic results

Hi community

I switched over to Nukecap's vpn unshaped service today. I have seen a dramatic decrease in my latency figures (from 10000ms to 700ms) and my favourite pastime has been ressurected from the dead.

The game is now completely playable.

Does anyone have information about starcraft: ghost? Would appreciate it.

Enjoy

Soz to spoil ur fun :( but i have only described what i have experienced, being a WOW and GW player, I can comment rather accurately on how it behaves.. High ping isnt generally an issue with GW, but shaping brings along packetloss and unfortunately no game welcomes packetloss.

How Did I Miss This?

For those that want to buy a US version of WoW or game cards can get it from me. As easy as a deposit into my standard bank account. You can place an order on woworder.webhop.net . An added benefit for all new purchases is the use of my free socks server for all you adsl ppl. If telkom behaves, using the socks server will most time get you a 700ms ping to US day and night as you go over an unshaped port.

Here are some FAQ's:

1). No this is not for cracked servers. If you want to play on those servers go find them, come back here when you want the real thing.

2). First month is free with purchase of US game

3). After that you can use your SA mastercard (I heard visa works too) to pay $15/month online on blizzards website.

4). If you do not have a credit card, you can buy game time, but it is more expensive, from a few people, including myself.

5). You also get a 10 day guest account cd key to give your friend. He can play for 10 days, and if he likes it, he can buy a game and punch in his cd key and continue playing.

6). Also some live ppl on irc. snow.shadowfire.org #wow channel (including me) who can help

7). It is playable on isdn/adsl, even 56k I heard. I dont have any so don't hold me too that.

8. A US account can not play on EU servers. There is not really much difference between ping times, and I believe more south african ppl are on US server.

9). From best guess, it *may* be released in SA at the end of the year. There will NEVER be local sa servers.

Or if you really want to play and dont care about the CD box or the manual. I mean I bought the game in the USA, and I've never opened the manual. Anyway look around on the net, there are many SAFE places you can buy just the CD key from and then get a friend in SA to lend you his copy to load it on to your PC and activate it with your CD key

There is one in particular where you buy the game, and for shipping you instruct them to destory the box and only email you the CD key, will cost you about R350.00, which is the same as a game goes for here.

If you want the box and that.. speak to Squish. I hear he has helped a few people out on the SAIX forums :)

If there is anyone playing on the EU realms and you want to join an SA guild, please join the rest of us. We play on the Sylvanas realm, Alliance faction. Currently we have 23 SA ppl in our guild, with 8 level 60 players. Our guild name is the Shadow Conclave, and contact ppl are Milamber, Nihilim, Delirium, Megharold, and Logan.

PLEASE join us! We really want to be more than 40 ppl so that we can do proper raid instances as a guild.
