You say that as if it's a bad thing? :D

Well... the playing 24/7... not the unbathed unshaved part...

Just don't want to die alone man!!!

LOL! That's also true!

I reckon it's just nice to have people that play in the same timezone as you, so you're not halfway through a mission and then your teammates start dropping like flies 'cos it's 4 in the morning for them, y'know?

That's why I play on EU servers. At least your in the same time zone and the likehood of team mate's dropping is minimal. :D So that's Dragonmaw look for FireFli new guild members always welcome and the guys are very helpful :)

Yeh, I guess... *shrug*

It's just *** that you can't use the serial number on both servers! That sucks.

wish I could say the same... but I haven't been able to get my hands on the discs yet... once i have them, i'll get a CD key from CDROMShop (or from someone selling one second hand, if I can find someone). But I'll probably play on the US servers, more people that I know on there.

Well, another hopeless addict here. Been playing for 3 days now, Night Elf Druid lvl 10, its damn difficult to log out, lol. Just 1 more quest b4 i hit the sack.
i'm happily playing on the EU server, the timeline is better for us, plus i have better ping than i would have had on the US server.
A note on CDRomshop. Remember, if you buy from them, you have to play on the US Server, thats the version they sell. Its the reason i got a m8 in the UK 2 buy me a copy instead.

Thanks for the heads up SM, I am aware of it though. Like I said, most people I know are playing on the US server. Hopefully one day they'll allow migration? *shrug*

oh okay, but now there's the question of the key... is there any free servers I could try before I, er, buy?

Alot of the 'lag' is actually caused by your PC. My games 'freezes' for a few seconds if I hearthed into Orggrimmar, its not internet lag its the game loading all the characters and their gear that causes this hickup. It seems the game caches all the characters that it recently loaded, because once it had finished loading I have no problem. I'm sure this could be resolved by more memory.

THANKS FOR THIS SUGGESTION LaRoosTa! I got another 512M chip and it feels as if the handbrake has been released. For the first time I've seen smooth griffon rides and very little jumpyness even at the AH. Why didn't I think of that ..? So hung up on network latency ..

So .. 1 GB of ram and homeDSL192 .. and you can play on a US west coast server no problem.

Now to solve the problem of getting enough sleep ..

:p

noone, the best would be to ask someone if they haven't used their 10day invite-a-friend cd-key. This way you can try it legally for 10 whole days and get the proper WoW experience and not some dodgy emu perspective.

TheYak, if you are still looking for a copy, check your private messages. (Top right corner, under "Welcome TheYak")

Alpharat, NP glad I could help. Today 1gig should be enough, but by tomorrow 2gigs will become standard. Your PC will always benefit with more
RAM, there will never be enough. (especially for games)

Thanks LaRoosTa, I got it from a collegue on Friday... and played the whole freaking weekend!!! *zombie walk* It's SUCH an awesome game!!

Anyhoo. I'm on "Shadowsong". Lvl11 (for now :D) Undead Warlock called Yakeht (yeh, I wanted to spell my nick backwards, mucked it up somewhere along the line LOL!). I also have a Lvl8 Tauren Druid on "Silvermoon" called Theyak.

Noone: There are a few SA peeps playing on Shadowsong (Horde, mostly), pop in sometime - I'm MORE than willing to help you to level up until you're the same level as me - it took me 1.5 days to get to lvl11, so up to there, it's quite quick. That goes for anyone that's starting now as well. I'm no pro, but I can defend myself against the odd Hellhound... quite well at that. :)

PS: You'll learn to despise hellhounds... :)

Anyhoo... gimme a shout when you get on.

Gratz man :D . Hope your not attached to any free time you have. Anyway enjoy the safety of the Undercity for now cos when you venture into the big bad PvP world you'll find yourself fustrated at being ganked.

Like last night when a bunch of 55+ Horde players camped outside Chillwind Peak killing my lowly lvl46 Druid. But no worries called in the calvary and got some payback :p . Even scored some good HK points.
