I have just had my first payment with WOW rejected. I use a debit card, but it has Visa Electron, so i thought i could use it, anyone know why i cant?

AFAIK only Credit card payments are accepted. Debit cards dont fall into that category.

My 10 day guest trial period expires soon and then I shall place my full game key to register, weird its still not asking for a US residential address to charge me. I hope it doesnt. :D

Considering posts on other forums there seems little or no chance that there will ever be a SA WoW server although the game may be released before the end of the year.

Thats all i have heard.

Has anyone heard anything more on the local release of WoW?

Apparently it is coming in October this year - some people have e-mailed Nu Metro and have got that response back.

They started beta-testing which server (US or Europe) were the best about 3-4 months ago.

i've just registered my version of WoW after using the guest card for 10 days and noticed a GAME CARD PURCHASE option from within my browser account menu.

Is this what you need to get the game up & running from your side?

You can have that option, or you can pay monthly.

Hi, I've been playing WoW for about a week now and am really loving it, it's just that i get ping of about 500 - 800. I'm playing on my brothers adsl192 and he uses SAOL unshaped. Is there something wrong?

Telkom is coming to install my adsl384 12 July. Which isp should i get? Whats the ing like with axxess? Should I get the unshaped as well? How much difference would the 384 vs 192 be?

those are the average ping rates everybody from SA gets when playing on US servers, EU servers might give you a slightly better rate but nothing extraordinary.

ATM WoW is on hold till my BF2 addiction is quenched... :p

I average 450ms on 384ADSL with SAOL unshapped account Dragommaw server (EU). I would imagine a shapped account would be about 150 - 200 ms slower. Hopefully when they release the game locally there will be some kind of VPN in place to get those pings down to 300ms :D

I asked the same question a while ago, but no one here seems to be playing WoW on 192K dsl.
I will soon (touch wood) be able to compare the two first hand though, when I get my homedsl 192 which I ordered yesterday. :)

I do .. on 192K dsl with a shaped account on Dragonblight (which is set to US west-coast time). I usually get around 850 ms latency, which seems to be okay.

I struggle a bit on battlegrounds, but a friend of mine, who claims the same latency, is racking up kills at a high speed, so that's probably to do with my own skill. I'm a lvl 27 hunter .. he's a lvl 30 warlock.

Remember .. wow needs memory to perform well. You need 512Mb just for WoW .. and then some for your OS.
