World snooker championship 17 April to 4 May in the UK

if anyone is still into snooker - the world championships are currently on with Ronnie trying for title number 8 .... still no local coverage of the event - butbeen watching some live streamng on youtube

There are quite a few players in form this season, a tough one to call.
 
Stupid progressive female at Allen's table. He has been brilliant in the last year.

 
yeah - saw that about those protests - some people just have a sad life that they have to do things like that to get attention - i hope those people spend a few weeks in jail for this .... especially that moron who threw all that orange stuff onto the table
 
i can't say it will happen for sure but i really would like to see Ronnie hammer Hoossen Vaffei into space Just because Vaffei had a big mouth last year and made a statement that Ronnie should retire so that the newer players like himself get a chance to win things ..... If you really want to win you should be able to beat the biggest and best in your chosen sport - if you want those to retire just so that you can win then you are full of hot air and you are a total bum wipe ..... which IMHO Vaffei certainly is because he wanted to copy Ronnies bad boy style but he is just making a big backside of himself trying to do it
 
okay so its finished 13-2 to Ronnie O Sullivan and Vaffei has his bags packed and is probably chugging a few drinks on his comfortable business class flight back home - and now who does Ronnie face in the quarters ..... why its Vaffei's clown pal Luca Brecel who is IMHO the dumbest one hit wonder in the game ..... he hits some amazing spectacularly good pots but his breakbuilding .... we will just say he is a few pennies short of a pound and leave it there BUT he did make a statement last year in support of Vaffei's whinging "oh he is right you know ..... Ronnie can't call us numpties, so he really should be banned "

interesting fact Ronnie has 7 world titles to his name and shedloads of other titles and records multiple times over and heres a guy who just won his first ever match at the Crucible within the last two days who is calling out the 7 times world champion who has to play him next ...... you just can't make it up

im willing to say that Ronnie is going to concentrate his backside out and demolish this clown - and if Brecel wins more frames than Vaffei's 2 that he managed yesterday against Ronnie then its some kind of moral victory for him - i reckon Brecel is going to get bent over that table and the only way Brecel can win is if Ronnie gets poisoned at a restaurant and is then run over by a 24 wheeler truck on the way to the hospital and the paramedics slip and allow his wheelchair to fall down two flights of stairs breaking both his arms in the process, one hour before the match ..... though all that might just make the outcome 50/50 :ROFL: :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
 
Ronnie had a nice chat with him after the Match. Great sportsmanship.

I reckon it’s either Selby or Ronnie for the title.
 
Congratulations Mark Selby on knocking in a 147 maximum in the second session of the finals - second maximum of the tournament (first was made by Kyren Wilson) - fantastic achievement for both players ..... and i think that it was the first time there were two in one World Championship

have to add though after re-reading some of my comments above - Ronnie let me down by letting Brecel beat him but i was thoroughly surprised by Si Juahui who was beaten by Brecel in the semi final - i predict a bright future for that young Chinese player - he plays some incredible shots ..... either way Brecel made my predictions look absolutely stupid :p:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

I find this thread after following the whole tournament :laugh: oh well guess I will have to wait for next year
 
Does anyone else here play snooker themselves ..... i stopped playing after getting cataracts in my eyes but i played league for around 10 years - i wasn't a very top level player but i played for the KZN "B" side in an interprovincials once upon a time

since i have had cataract surgery i would like to get a new cue (old one was stolen) and start playing again - Durban has a great venue with some top quality tables - our SA profesional league tourneys are all held here

I play alot of pool, sadly do not even know where snooker tables are in PMB.

in Montclair .... heres a link to the Pro Snooker Facebook page - you can get news of when these tournaments are happening again - spectators are welcome to come watch (a buddy of mine runs the thing - and a lot of those matches are televised - they show it on DSTV too)

there are another 8 tables in the main hall where the league matches etc happen and guys can go and play and pay for the lights on an hourly basis (when the place is open during season time)

BTW the SA championships was happening in Pretoria over the last week (6th-13th May) - now that it's over some of the players are going to go to the All Africa championships in Casablanca ... the winner was Charl Jonck

i don't think so - as i said it depends on when the league season starts as to when its regularly open - otherwise most of the guys phone the person in charge when they want to use the place

they used to have a permanent employee who opened the place daily but since he quit they havent been able to find someone yet - but as soon as its open daily again i will try to let you know

Been watching a lot of pool the last while. Nowhere on TV but Matchroom YouTube channel is quite good. Watched the UK Open. Found a few other sites and channels to watch more pool events.
