Hi all, Farouk here. Been a long time lurker here, and have been treated to awesome information and advice. I'm currently looking at leaving my current job(fam issues). I'm married with 2 kids and i was lucky as I was in the family business, and was earning well, but our fam has outgrown the business, which I am leaving . I have my lifetime savings for opening a new business, I am IT oriented and previously had an internet cafe on the side which did well for extra money. I have sold out n looking at something similar. I have seen a Post link franchise , startup.is R330k,it's the cheapest I have seen compared to Post Net, 3@1 etc. Those are close to 800k .
I am in cape town, and there is a mall that does not have such a business,no icafe, no delivery (Post Net,dhl), away from a post office. I feel it's the perfect spot.
Any advice or any1 own or operate a similar franchise? Any bugs I should be aware off?

Any advice on financing?. I have about 400k but don't want to use all, would be interested in financing 50-60%.

Kind regards

Farouk

Get a Krispy Kreme or Halal Portuguese food franchise.

You will be a millionaire in 2 years time.

Food franchises are the more stable options, even if you take out a loan to cover the costs you will be able to pay off that loan very fast

Rather get a food franchise, many people would rather go that route.

How many big name food franchises are available under R400k as per OP's requirement. In this current economy what ROI are they offering?

How about you go and speak to the franchise owner of one of these stores somewhere and discuss the matter thoroughly. Set up an appointment, think up all the questions you have, right them down so that you can cover them in detail and then find out from the franchiser the pros and cons, sticking points etc etc and make a logical assessment of whether it will be worthwhile.

OR

Ask people on MyBB where maybe 1 person will have experience in a completely unrelated market sector of franchising.
