If you're not playing games or running memory intensive apps, 1GB should do, otherwise 2GB is sorta a must.

So far i've only played BF2142 on my machine with 2GB, and it runs just fine.

Great thing bout Vista is, the more memory you throw at it, the better it runs, since Superfetch will always make use of all your free memory.

2Gb is really enough, especially if you don't actually need it for gaming or any heavy apps. Eh.. I see you do, well it's still enough :)

1GB runs Ultimate fine, like someone said, even with old AMD 64 chips.

I was bored (ye, very bored!) the other night, and got vista installed on a P3 Celeron 733 with 512mb ram - slow, but runs!.

Turn off the desktop search services and some of the other non essential bloat and suddenly Vista feels a lot smoother.

I might get Vista home basic for DX10 gaming but honestly, I think it's a load of rubbish.

I'm tired of Windows.

My PC is currently running XP Home SP2 with Vista Tranformation Pack - and I've never even thought of upgrading to Vista. Why have to buy more RAM and a faster processor for the same desktop I already have?

My next 'PC' will be a Mac. :)

ok here's the thing.. the part bout using usb flash drives for 'cache mem' doesn't go with me.. i mean, usb 2.0 speed for cache mem? maybe when we get usb3.0 with like superfast speeds then that'll work .. neway.. i've decided 2 go with 4bg ram, as this shud be more than sufficient for heavy gaming :D
didn't buy it yet tho.. ;)

2 Gb RAM for Vista is allmost barebones if you do heavy stuuf, notice it with Apps like Visio.
