well they can tank just fine... Obviously our main tank is a warrior but in times when he wasn't there we have cleared both HS/MH and BT(except illidan) with a druid and pala main tanking.

Well we have 6 tanks we use as Maintanks when available. 2 warriors 2 paladins and 2 druids. We are farming MH and BT at the moment and are 2 bosses away from Sunwell (Archi and Illidian). Any of the 6 tanks can tank single targets, in fact our one paladin tank is the prefered tank in progression raids since he can take a lot more beating than the warriors and have amazing threat generation!

But lets be honest.

Pala's are healers ;) They are the best Multi Mob tanks I have ever seen, but there is no such tanking required at end game. I think the whole scene should stay the same going into WoTLK. Warriors will always be the best tanks for boss fights, so it's clear by what you are saying that end game in WoTLK will keep to the same kind of play style they have in TBC, Warrior (Tank) Pala (Healer)
But the DK is coming......

Wouold just like to bump this thread and ask about how it is now with WoTLK out for a few months already.

My Pala is now level 43 and heading straight to 80 as my leave starts on Friday. So monday morning 8am I'll be leveling and grinding my little BE to death :p

I know Retri is currently the best class in PvP, they are still awesome healers but these concerns early in this thread regarding +SP and and and, how is it coming together at level 80?

I have also read that your defence actually goes down 10 by every level you reach for some reason. I just don't understand that bit.

Thanx for the help guys.

You re right, thanks to diminishing returns your def keeps dropping. But it aint to bad, and once at 80 you can get the ball rolling again fairly easy with some craftables.

Seems like AP is favoured over SP in the spells, I managed to keep a steady 600-700 SP and rest is attack power, worked well enough for 4-5k threat per second without pushing...

Just as I thought I got rid of the game, damn miss my mates too much, going to ask blizz for a discount

Ok let me ask you this maybe.

Would you but a leg enchant in favour of crit + stamina or would you so for that Sapphire leg enchant that gives +50 SP and 30 Stamina ?

Warrior tanks are being dropped in raids for AOE tanks. Pre- BC warriors were the only viable raid tanks, since then most of these warriors have started playing other chars or gone dps. A warrior is now getting to the "optional" stage in a raids since druids and paladins are equal good single target tanks. In the roll of offtanks, I cant think of many warrior offtanks...
While paladin tanks have a specific roll and are the kings of AOE tanking warriors have pulled the short straw in BC.
Last thought: A paladin or druid can take over the tanking job of a warrior, but can you use a warrior to take over from a Paladin/ Druid? (MH trash is a good example)

I have to disagree. I run our guild's raids just about every night and I prefer warrior tanks over Paladins and DK's. Have not had a Druid tank since WotLK though :(

Best combo is Warrior + Paladin MT and OT :)

Stam as it gives your more EH and spellpower to boot. As for play am loving it, and I find the best 10mand tank combo so far is DK and Pala

I have always gone for the stamina and agility patch for legs. Agility gives chance to dodge, so ups ur total avoidance better than any other enchant.

As for SP, I have pushed my SP to 1200, but with lower weapon dps, didnt really notice a difference, so went back to the high dps weapon....
