problem is we live in South africastan where internet is a luxuary

Hmmm, does it work in thunder storms? Otherwise like others I doubt I would use it due to having access to fiber but on the other hand if I had a fully remote job and needed a backup line for fiber outages I would consider it, especially if I could share the cost with some neighbours.

Nah, all subject to later price updates.
It's all relative anyway, my much lower "uncapped" speed gives us more than we need for about the same price.

As for Starlink, still comes across as a niche market.
