Telkom's latest financial results show an increase in mobile revenue and a push to expand its fibre network - is now a good time to buy shares?

Would not invest in those extorters on principle.

I think Telkom will experience steady growth in the long term, but no massive short term growth.

Not such a simple question...

If you wanted short term benefit you should have bought these shares about 2/3 months ago when it was around R52. Closed at R62-odd yesterday. Also a decent dividend policy...

If they are part of the Top 60 index (or in some Coronation or Marriott Unit Trusts) then I might already be invested in them, but no, I would not go out and consciously buy their shares...

It would seem also that there are quite a few:

From my side I'll say Telkom is too capital intensive, they won't get my vote, MTN/Vodacom on the other hand, yes..

Thanks, so they are in the Top 60 (that would be the 10X Prime High Equity). 0.18% of that fund. No other exposure.

I did when it was R24 per share not a massive amount though, wish I had bought more. Also wish I sold it all when it hit R84.
I did sell out my initial investment amount at about R60 per share though so now I effectively have "free" shares.. :p

I work for them, but I really don't know. With the way things are going, I would invest, just not too much. Customers are not happy. Employees are not happy, service is not the best. Products are excellent, however the service delivery needs to improve. Customer satisfaction needs to improve. Investor confidence needs to improve. Man, we've got a long and hard road ahead to fix these issues. I pray we get it right. I seriously do...

16 Nov open R62.89

Now at around R72.80

Nope. Their service is awful and there's no clear vision from CxO level. They're an aimless ship. With their infrastructure and scale they should have wiped out the competition. They aren't. They're picking up the scraps. A successful company connects with it's client. They do not. Unless this changes they're stuffed.
