I only watch about 10 channels, so choosing my own would be lovely. We gave up our DSTV because the Premium was too expensive, but, the others didn't have the channels we watch. If we could have tailored our channels, we probably would have kept DSTV
 
Yes I want to watch, what I want and when I want. Why can we not get an affordable sport bundle??? We stopped watching South-African sports, because we cancelled our DSTV... Perhaps start looking after all your customers instead of a certain demographic...
 
I would llike this option to pick my own channels, but as long as Multichoice charges us no more for the channels than what we're currently contributing. Multichoice however has such a corrupt hold on the Pay TV market in South Africa, along with M-Net, that the two will just hike prices to cover some sort of "levy fee" for providing the option to choose channels.

Therefor, for me I would rather want less African content (I don't watch those at all) and get the real Pay TV experience on my existing channels at the price that I am currently paying. I already have Chromecast so Multichoice will be a distant memory if and when they are really becoming too much local (read African) for my taste. I am paying them money for quality content and don't want watered down (transformation oriented) versions of FOX, Discovery, AMC, etc. :mad:
 
Definitely YES . Hopefully they won't overcharge us! I have a Premium contract, and most of the channels I wouldn't even look at!

Been asking for this option for years! It is obvious that subscribers would prefer to pay only for the channels that they watch. I also believe that this will substantially increase the number of active subscribers -and- increase revenue. Bring back the 'Choice' in MultiChoice!
 
This would be so amazing. There is no way that DSTV can create enough "packages" to satisfy every type of audience. I feel cheated into getting the Premium package because they make any other package lower than that SO undesirable. They take Mnet away, and the sport channels and Discovery and most movie channels and leave us with VUSU and AFMAG. Why must I pay for channels that I never watch and then can't watch the channels I LOVE, if I don't have Premium? I know they need to make money and they do this on purpose, but it would be a huge step ethically for them if they did indeed let us choose our own channels. It would show that DSTV had a "heart" and then I might not have to choose between Wifi (which will always win because of work) and DSTV. I could have afford BOTH! What a dream that would be. Many many more people would get DSTV then.
 
Honestly...I love the idea. The way the channels are packaged is so unnecessary. People pick packages based on certain channels and half of the channels that come with that package isn't even used. Well, that's how it is for me. The fact that they group channels in that way is so idiotic because channels you might want would be split between packages. It doesn't make sense! It's like they are trying to either make you pay for the full thing or sit with half the thing with over 20 channels that you don't even use.

Picking channels would be a dream come true! :))

Everyone would love a sports channel package, but most of those already have premium for this reason.
