I can’t speak for other MMORPG games but I’ve played both of these and so far all the female characters I’ve met are played by males – I’ve yet to meet a female character who is actually a female. Most of the players say the prefer looking at a female that’s why they play a female character. This answer suggests that they are heterosexual but it’s lame because most male characters will hit on female characters and I think this is where these guys posing as females get off - this must be their big turn on having guys hit on them! I guess they are “cyber transvestites”

Lol. With regards to GW, I have a male Elementalist in Tyria and I have just recently created a female Assassin character in Factions - just for a change in pace. My character's name is Jessica Reen Dbnsa (part of a bigger project to come - don't know any Jessica's). Thank god I haven't had any 'hit' on me, but I have noticed that it's easier to get into a party :)

Don't worry though, my next character in Nightfall will be male.

Well, I am only following the plot of the designers.
All the classes I have is actually the same as what the creators have it at the creation screen.
So there! :p
I have met female chars that are played by females.
Being a female character hasnt helped me in getting into parties though.

The moment someone mentions "dude" in his chat it is a dead giveaway anyway... :D

LOL men r so stupid!

Im playing Hero online atm and each class has 2 genders, so on the whole men are playing men and women are playing women. Im in a guild where its about 1/5 women players... and i know they are real women because we use TS. Without inflicting some serious bodily harm, when using TS its hard to pretend to be wrong gender.

And as for being a female playing MMORPG's I definitely get preferential treatment... no cyber required... just being myself... sweet kind and helpful works wonders! in the lastgame I played I managed to make some rare equipment at about a tenth of the normal cost of production because of the donations i received from men! maybe testosterone does soften the brain cells but when used the equipment i was kicking A$$ all over the place. they soon regreted their generous donations!

:D

WoW and GuildWars are not dating games [even though i guess there are some thinking it is]. It's like saying guys have gender issues for playing Tombraider... . Anyway i don't create characters in RPG games with the intention to get some cyber-lovin.

I think it's also how long you played RPGs . I remember when i first started RPGs i always picked male-superhero-musclepower characters. Got very bored with that quickly, so now i pick my characters based on some "role model" character i read about or seen somewhere . I.e. if i wanted to make an elven healer..i might think Galadriel [female character in Lord of the rings] and based my character on that...instead of creating a male elven healer with an identity crisis ;).

Absolutely!! :D
I create the gender of characters of what in my mind will suit the best.
All my Warrior characters are for instance MALE... coz well we know who are stronger of the genders. It's brute power baby, Yeah!! :D

I just deleted my 11 month old Male Warrior so I could reroll as a female character.

The female characters just look far better than their mail counterparts.

hehe, the female warrior just look to clueless and I keep thinking they need those asterix helmets to fit in with a viking scene. :)

What if I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body? Do you have any idea how that feels?:D
