It's pretty..bland, to say the least. I've not had a chance to read the book yet and there's nothing really telling me WTF is going on.
Does drop SH*T loads of embersilk cloth for tailors with the scavenging talent! Getting about 5-6 stacks per run.
I agree. But I guess that's what challenge modes will be for. Still..

I think it's just to introduce it before MoP. It should be harder when MoP is released. This one is only active for this week and will be lvl 90 in MoP.

I haven't heard about any, but I wasn't looking for it. BT Games and Zaps had launches for Cataclysm, so perhaps check their sites.
Edit:
Don't see anything for Zaps, but there is a couple of BT Games stores that have midnight launches, as well as AWX in Randburg (Brightwater Commons). Makes sense that Zaps won't have a launch if AWX is having one, since they are about 100m apart. https://www.facebook.com/events/414812921909714/

I am going to be levelling a mistweaver panda. I have every heirloom except the ring you win in the fishing competition Items all enchanted with best possible enchants. Only problem is I am on the busiest server, so I am expecting cues of about 8000 people tomorrow

But you shouldn't have any trouble during the day tomorrow.
Im going to level a windwalker monk. Already have all the agility leather heirlooms from leveling my druid and rogue, so no need to spend currency for new ones. Only thing I needed to get was the new heirloom staff.

So who`s a levelling?
The servers were pretty unstable at 12am. Most people were stuck at 90% loading screens. But they fixed that about 2 hours after launch. But the lag was still horrendous. So I just did a couple run of the new dungeons, and further focus on pet battles, which are pretty fun!
I'll go back to leveling some more tonight, hopefully the lag will be a tad less
