Imagine how easy your life would be if you just ran windows on the computer you play your games on. No sane person would dedicate any significant resources to fix bugs for a platform that less than 1% of their subscriber base play on.Almost got my monk to 10. Serious issue with Blizzard and OpenGL though. The arrow on my map to show me where I am is no longer there. Apparently this is because of lazy development from Blizzard for OpenGL. So if you play on Mac or Linux like I do... expect to have issues.
To get around this I have installed Carbonite. Problem is this addon is not updated to MOP yet, so I had to add a hacked plugin to it to get it to kinda work. I say kinda because not all the quests are listed.

Or keep kicking against the spikes, whatever floats your goat.
Got online yesterday around 17:30 played until 23:00, everything was stable no lag and MS was a steady 193-200
Manged to get to 86 and 43% away from 87.
Questing area was crowed quite badly so made it difficult to complete certain quests that had a horrible respawn timer.

I dont expect you to understand what we are talking about.Or keep kicking against the spikes, whatever floats your goat.
Damn that's a long way down memory lane. Fortunately everything needed for questing is in the stock standard UI these days.I feel your pain. Amazing how quickly one becomes dependant on certain game elements. Gone are the days of alt-tabbing out of game to check thottbot.com for quest help.
No I'm sure there are a few games that you can play on linux, if you want to go through the painstaking effort of getting linux to do what you want like any normal consumer product, but when some issue pops up you're gonna be stuck like our friend ghoti where nobody really cares while everything hums along on their windows PC's.Some of us live in hope for a non-Windows orientated game industry. It wouldn't be that hard to do either. There are more than enough games playable on Mac and Linux to keep me entertained. Especially indie games, I heart indie games.
Didn't I just tell you less than 1% of the wow subscriber base play on a non-windows PC ? That isn't large, it's insignificant, and that's cool, just keep in mind that you are gonna have a bad time.OpenGL can be played on Windows, Mac and Linux. IE, 100% of the gaming computers out there. They will of course fix this, or their large mac user base will not be able to play..
Shooting yourself in the foot also isn't anything special, just take a gun, aim it at your foot and pull the trigger.PS, I didnt need to hack or do anything special to play wow on linux. I copy across the game files and double click on the exe. If people cant handle that they shouldnt be gaming. Cause its that easy![]()
Oh really, because the devs and moderators from Blizzard (according to forum posts) put the numbers from 6-14% on mac. I think Ill take their opinion over yours.Didn't I just tell you less than 1% of the wow subscriber base play on a non-windows PC ? Thats because you hardly do anything with it. With Linux I can have two games running, and a video playing at full screen with no issues with my different screens. I dont get the same experience with windows. I also cant handle Windows software rot and the terrible file system you guys play on. But different strokes. You can spin it any way you like son, the fact is that I have zero issues on my awesome windows PC, while you are only able to quest after hacking your client and the main difference in the equation is the OS : windows > linux > mac.

Going to lol really hard come steam OS/PC/Console and it is also a semi-closed to closed system.Haha, this is right after Steam says they will be developing for linux because of the abortion that is windows 8. lol![]()
Suuuuure. As you said yourself though, nothing factual only opinions.Oh really, because the devs and moderators from Blizzard (according to forum posts) put the numbers from 6-14% on mac. I think Ill take their opinion over yours.
That would've been absolutely splendid if you were capable of playing 2 games, say BF3 and WoW and watch a movie simultaneously... The thing is, you're not and you won't ever be, so I cannot imagine why you would even bother typing that out.Thats because you hardly do anything with it. Software rot has nothing to do with the hardware....And please, anybody that has a decent PC has a SSD inside, which effectively nullifies what you so eloquently describe as "software rot". And are you 100% sure you know what a FS is ?
Why?Maybe it is time to end the wow![]()
