Hi all
I urgently need some help, please.
In September I logged onto my efiling profile to submit my return, but found a company had wrongfully submitted someone else's IRP 5 onto my name - meaning I have two IRP 5's on my tax profile. I immediately contacted the SARS helpline, but was informed that they cannot do anything from their side - it is the responsibility of the company who submitted the IRP5 in the first place to withdraw it.
I Googled the company name and was quite lucky to find them rather easily. I then contacted their HR department, who referred me the their CFO and have been in contact with him since September to get this sorted out. He discovered that the error was made via my ID number - the other person's ID number is quite close to my own and it was entered incorrectly.
Unfortunately, the IRP5 is still showing on my profile after they submitted the documentation (both our IDs) to SARS and I am getting very concerned that the issue will not be sorted out in time for me to submit my retun before the deadline on the 25th Nov.
Though they have offered to pay any penalties I may incur, I do not feel that this is a solution and I really do not want to submit my retun late. I have never submitted a return any later than September and would appreciate any advice you may have.
