It seems there is a great security fault with my adsl, as i am capped for this motnh, but only have used 500 sumthing Megs of total combined bandwith, yet my stats on saix tell me i am on 12 Gigs. i have the proof on my PC as i use Netlimiter to control the amount of badnwith i use.

Apparetnly this has occured offen and it is utterly UNACCEPTABLE that these sort of things happen. Now i am "punished" for abusing bandwith, which i have actually never even used, and i am nowhere near 12 gigs, yet alone 3.

Either there is something really wrong on saix's side or my account has simply been hacked or sumthing. I have also heard that the routers supplied by telkom contain large security faults! hm.......!

If anyone would like to c my nelimiter logs, u may. i also have a screen shot of my saix table, with dates etc. The adsl service is already not of a top standrad to most users and now such thing are also happening.

I hope this problem can be resolved a.s.a.p., and any loopholes can be fixed to protect other users!

Refuse to pay until the issue is sorted - it's your right. They have to resolve the issue and provide you with service until such a time.

MaD, I wish your solution works, but I tried it and you will wait months until anyone even tries to sort it out. I think this has been an ongoing issue. Darkstar, try to phone Telkom and ask for the highest person to talk to. Bandwidth stealing has been a huge issue in the past and as many of us can say, once your capped, there is very little you can do (whether it was your fault or not).

The thing is by law if any account is queried by the customer Telkom has to continue providing the service as per normal until a solution is found... if anyone gives you the runaround, that's fine, because until its sorted the service is still provided. Anything to the contrary is an ICASA complaint, seriously.. mail them, it's part of the Telecommunications Act.
Sticky one tho :)
