WUG | RB433 and 3G dongle disconnections

I have bought a new WUG kit, with the RB433 board, and whilst setting up I have noticed a little niggle that I cant get sorted out.

Has anyone had any problem with the router disconnection when making a connection to the net with a 3G dongle?

For instance, I also have a MF668 ZTE dongle, which I use to connect to the net, whenever I click "connect" winbox would stop any Rx/Tx and then pop-up will state Router disconnected. When clicking the "..." icon or reconnect, it will not show any MAC or IP address to connect to, this only re-appears after disconnection with 3G... ?

Anyone have a clue as to the remedy for this?

Tnx.
Will

I'm taking a wild guess that the "router" can only support one connection at a time...?

sounds like a complete traffic reroute to the 3g modem (0.0.0.0/0 -> 3g dongle)
but i could or could not be the situation.

SharkBait, well I don't think the router board controlling the wireless connections with the WUG should be phased by my 3g dongle connection via CellC?

Different interfaces etc?

I still have to go sit on the roof and align the grid properly this weekend to get my signal down below 81, then I can request and set up a persistent IP for the router board etc, presently Win7 is assigning an auto IP.
(Work in JHB live in PTA, sitting on the roof at night in winter = bad idea :p ) Maybe the auto IP thing is a problem or something, I have no idea.

I log onto the router to scan etc via WinBox, using the MAC addy, so I'm not sure if the auto IP's are even a problem. Other than that I dunno if when making a connection to CellC service if the port that gets used by the router is the same one used by the dongle, honestly I'm not an ultra-IT-techy, just a techy geek :)

I'm thumb sucking ideas here as I dunno why this is happening, anyone have a suggestion I'm up for it. I asked an admin on the PTAWUG irc, said some other users also have the problem, but don't know what causes it either.

I guess for now I'll just have to disconnect online if I want to connect to the RouterOS, will see if things change after completing the setup this weekend.

@death192, I dunno, you might have an idea there, if it were so, what would you propose the solution be?

When you have the antenna aligned ask the HS admin to enable your mac and assign you IPs, and explain what to put where. The DNS server on the wug will direct traffic to the wug or your internet connection for you as needed or you can route it yourself with scripts which other wuggers can share with you.

Thanks DanH, will do. Cant wait to get the whole thing up n running, been meaning to get connected for eons already, never actually got it all going :p
Will report back if the problem gets sorted.

Now if only I could get the align beep-feature to function... Me+laptop+roof+heights=disaster waiting to laugh at myself... Eager to NOT have to climb back on the roof any time soon :)

ask a friend to help and check the signal on the laptop while you align the antenna - much easier

Did the alignment on the roof with an antenna, all's well.
The reason why 3g and wug did not play well together was a Routes problem. 0.0.0.0 default route was for some reason being assigned to my wug and was also on the 3g dongle connection. did a "delete route" in cmd and everything's working now.

Thanks for the input guys
