Top right says: 142 Shoppers Currently Online

Hits today: 72
avg: 82.8

Have a look what stats you guys get? How can you have 142 shoppers online, and only 72hits ?

Just trying to understand how this satopsites ranking system works....or if bluesting is wrong?

perhaps 142 logged into doing some shopping as opposed to just visiting the front page

Topsites gives you the REAL people that viewed the site. Some other counters mark off bots and search engines.

Hi Ap0c,

I'm not filtering the bots yet, sorry about the confusion! I got very excited about the traffic to the site when I first saw that, then I had a look at the sessions and noticed MSNBOT and GOOGLEBOT everywhere. I will add filters to stop them from creating sessions, just a bit busy on other parts of the site right now.

Also, SATopSites shows Page Views (Unique Page Views and Total Page Views).

Regards

Hi,

What do you mean by expensive? I don't sell anything, I just show other shops prices. Are you referring to a particular product or price maybe? I currently have one issue on the site with Prophecy Shops prices, they are inflated by 100 times, but his developer is on leave and will fix the Data Feed soon. Nothing wrong on my side though. Otherwise explain yourself please!

Regards

i find the 939 pricing very expensive

but if its coming from shops it would as they had bought stock when prices where high

939 has been almost halfed in the last month or 2

Hi,

I think it's very difficult for online stores to maintain accurate and up to date prices. For starters, some stores source their products from multiple suppliers. Normally they get an XLS spreadsheet with no real indication of what prices have changed. So they need to develop some form of automated import and update script, which can be run on a weekly basis (as many suppliers are now sending weekly pricelists). I think the benefit that a site like mine will give consumers is the ability to immediately see who keeps their prices upto date and who doesn't! And weed out the VERY expensive sites from the reasonable ones!

If a store can simply keep it's prices upto date, it will already be in a winning position. I can almost immediately tell who updates their prices regularly and who doesn't. And of course my click-through rate backs it up! Also, I would strongly suggest buying from a reputable store, price is NOT NOT NOT everything!

Also, I will soon allow users to review services from the various merchants. You will require an invoice number to do so, to prevent fraudulent ratings. But it will give a better indication of who to buy from!

This is exactly why I am a bit behind with the launch of my online store. I need a good way to keep my prices up to date, which is very hard with the rand/dollar rates at the moment.
