Okay what on earth does that mean?

If you mod an Xbox 360 you lose the ability to play on Live which destroys 40% of what the box does..... Just work harder and buy the real games... or go chip a PS3 instead.

Erm, the chip still allows your to play on live. If you insert the Backup Disk, the Mod is activated. Only then must you not play on Live. But when you insert a Original disk, the mod will be disabled, and you will be able to play on live. My point is, get the mod, and only buy the games you want to play on live, the rest you can copy :D

The thing about Xbox 360 and Live is that M$ can download software down to your machine as an update at any time. So they find out about the mod send you an upgrade and bam you have a doorstop with no recourse.

Just buy the games, if you can't afford it then don't buy the console.....

Which is why I am not slagging you completely :)

You should be able to afford the stuff soon enough and then you gotta stop pirating. It's no excuse but arguing with a poor student is a no win situation and not as interesting as debating religion with the highly religious. Even though the end result is the same.

Pirates go "Arrrr" and have parrots. Stuff copyright - the games are priced as massive ripoffs.

I totally agree with you. It's a lot easier just to go out and buy the game, as to:

1. Mod your XBOX (Forfeiting your Warenty)
2. Buying a DL+R DVD
3. Having to Download(5-7GB) the game, and having to get the correct SS.
4. Burning the game, which may even result in a bad copy.
5. And of coarse, taking the risk of being banned on Live.

So yes, pirating XBOX games is a lot of hassle. Take the time you will spend to copy a XBOX game, and go work in a bar, then use that money to get buy the original :D

People don't understand how much work goes into developing a game. Being a Developer myself, i know the work and time that goes into developing software/games. Charging R500 for all that work is cheap if you come to think of it

funny how this poor third world country like SA has a government that can afford to bill the corruption trial expenses of Zuma or for that matter fly their government employees with their families on trips to Dubai with their families.

the whole case about being ripped off is invalid simply because we live in a capitalist society.

Rubbish man....

It costs them something like $10 million to make the game. So they have to sell a lot of those games to make a profit, plus M$ or Sony take a cut from every game sold because they have subsidised the hardware. Then the distributor needs cash, the marketing guys, the packaging guys, the stores that sell them and on and on and on...

Then a lot of people wait until it costs R250 and buy it then which means less money for the developers.

They are not overpriced by any stretch of the imagination.
