I is way out of warranty and no problems. The only reason I might get another XBox is for the HDMI port.

you obviously have issues reading or understanding what you read.

the first and third both had RROD and the third the cd tray was also jamming

the second was faulty out the box - it sounded like it had an angle grinder inside.

The last one is a cd problem.

When it works, its 24/7 in use, don't try and be cute with daft responses.

I'm happy for you your 2006 model is working fine, bully for you. Maybe you don't own many games or don't use it as much, or maybe you just lucky - but to have a perfect working xbox for 3 years is not the norm, probably actually in the minority.
Stop getting pissy, I was merely making a joke out of a bad situation.

As for not having many games/not using my console I'm afraid you're very much incorrect in that assumption.

yay, sweet, so got console number 5 yesterday from MI terrible.

Back to GOW2 - that game is frikken awesome.

Now I suppose every 3 months I will just swop it while it has a 3 month warranty and everything will be cool.

I am happy for you. Good luck. You need it! I have VERY good advice but for the sake of sanity will not post it here. :D

Enjoy.

I'm on my 2nd Xbox. I won't be buying a new one if this one breaks as well.

Actually, I think the dude should check his power at his house, I read a story about a guy overseas who went through 6 360's and bashed the crap out of it, then he moved...didnt RROD again...

A trick worth trying is connect the XBOX360 via a UPS which will filter out voltage spikes.

my first 360 was going strong for over the last 2 years, i then bought another 360 and moved my old 360 upstairs to the bedroom, i put it on a shelf, open shelf as tall as the xbox sitting on its side and open in the front , but that was not good enough to ventilate it and it died a few days later , just basically having a big plank below and a big plank about 40 cm above it.. stupid thing

+ 1000

That pretty much goes for any electrical equipment, though.

+1

All my TV's, decoders,HIFI's etc go through UPS's. This was after replacing 1 Xbox, Mnet decoder twice, TV repairs and DVD replacement. Never had a problem since, and I can watch sport when there is a power failure.
