Xbox One S vs PS4 pro: UHD blu ray, 4K

Xbox one S comes with built in UHD Blu ray player while PS4 Pro does not. Does anyone stream 4k content via PS4 - What kind of internet speed is recommended?

It would seem that Xbox one S offers more value as an overall entertainment system in terms of out-of-the-box hardware functionality compared to both PS4 Slim and Pro, when considering price..

A steady internet connection speed of 25 megabits per second or higher.

I use my standard xbox for my media. Works well. I either stream from my pc via the built in Cast to Device of win10 or I plug in my HDD. Don't have a plex server. I did need to install VLC for one HD movie to play but no other problems. Use Netflix and youtube.

Yes. That's why the PS4 has outsold it on something like a 3 for 1 basis...

By nature both are gaming consoles. The XBox has always focused on all-round media entertainment and PS4 purely for gaming. But this has never been a secret from either MS or Sony.

Personally I don't give two hoots about a UHD BR player as I only use my Pro for gaming.

Id say that if you have a 4K TV and you don't already own a Xbox one and of course you enjoy gaming, then its definitely worth getting one now with the specials around. R3999 for a 500 gb xbox one s + a game sometimes 2 games is a bargain IMO.
