Xbox Series X vs PlayStation 5 - What we know so far

Both Microsoft and Sony have announced their next-generation consoles, and pre-orders have already opened.

The PlayStation 5 was so popular, it sold out in just four minutes at some local online stores.

Many South Africans may still be deciding which console to buy when both consoles are again available for pre-order.

Sony also has detailed that load times will change from 1GB in 20 seconds...
o_O

I assume it's a typo :)

LMAO
1 GB in 20 seconds? Crikey, that's half the speed of my internet line
On the disk channel?

Err, we're not talking line speed here.

I assume it from the time you launch a game to the point where you can actually start playing.

Err... I'm not talking about the PS4 line speed. I'm talking about it's disk read speed. I see it's a gigaBYTE in 20 seconds, but still, that's 50MB per second from the disk channel. Flip, that's slow. The average hard drive does double to three times that.

You can get 1Gbps over fibre in SA, this is around 500Mbps - half that

There is no PS4 line speed.

but not sure what your issue is. Personally, I've never had an issue with the load times on the PS4.

There is no PS4 line speed.
Then why do you keep bringing PS4 line speed into the equation?

Were not talking about your issue with the load times on the PS4. I'm talking about how slow it all is in theory. They may well have a SATA to IDE converter in there for those speeds.

I didn't. My initial statement was "line speed" not PS4 line speed. That is something you brought into the equation.

Well ok let me put it another way them. Realistically, those speeds are pretty much ok.
