dude...
corrosion aint no problem ... ever heard about corformal coat? (aka Pastik Spray) ..
Consumer grade pcb's are not usually conformal coated ... what I do is coat my pcb's are they are good to go ... excceptional resistance to elements... we use it on all our missile PCB's in the defence industry ......

What is Conformal Coating?
Conformal coating is a protective, dielectric coating designed to conform to the surface of an assembled printed circuit board or PWA. Commonly used conformal coatings include silicone, acrylic, urethane, and epoxy. We apply all these coatings regularly, except epoxy, which is rarely specified due to its permanence. (A fifth type of coating, parylene, is not included in this discussion. It is a vacuum-deposited dimer used primarily in space and military operations. Its expense generally precludes its use in commercial applications.)

Why use conformal coating?
* Coating offers protection of circuitry from moisture, fungus, dust and corrosion caused by extreme environments.
* Coating prevents damage from board handling during construction, installation and use, and reduces mechanical stress on components and protects from thermal shock.
* Coating resists abrasion in service.
* Coating enhances performance and allows greater component density due to increased dielectric strength between conductors.

What are the properties of the different types of conformal coating?
(All data herein represent typical values for various types of coatings. For specific ratings and details, contact the manufacturer of a specific coating.)
* Acrylic: Generally the easiest of the coatings to handle. Thermoplastic lacquer base means the coating is easy to apply, easy to remove and repair. Moisture resistance comparable to urethane and silicone, but poor resistance to petroleum solvents and alcohol. Dielectric withstand >1500 volts. Temperature range -59C to 132C
