I couldnt find any so went with chinabuy. The redmi note 2 is great could have nipped and tucked some mm's from the bottom or rather on screen buttons. But now I'm just nitpicking.

I should be getting mine on Tuesday.

I ordered a few cases and screen protectors from DealExtreme. I should have surplus if I manage to apply the screen protector correctly (I bought a few incase I stuff up).

I'll post up here if I have spares left over. They're cheap so I won't charge for them. But collection/shipping is on you :p

Vodacom activated 4g on my Redmi 2 phone recently. Is it the same for everyone else?

I get two days easily without wifi. Wifi chows fast as it's dual band as well. Wifi on in the evening, one day.

I'm a mid heavy user in the evening for Chromecast, androidTV remote & netflix/hulu viewing

My wife just got this phone, must say it's actually quite a nice phone. A bit bigger than my LG G4, if I knew about this sooner, I'd have bought myself one. Though a cover and screen protector would be nice. Currently she's using a generic 5.5 cover where you have to flip it to use the camera.

Would you mind posting a pic of this generic cover? And where you got it. I emailed MIA and they have not yet received accessories for the Redmi Note 2

Got a plastic samsung E7 cover from the local cell shop near the taxi rank for R40. The holes and buttons are in the wrong place but it fits. So I just made some new holes.

Cover is pretty big, but the phone is pretty big as well and everything does fit nicely. Would've been nicer if it was a snug fit though.

I love the my Redmi Note 2!
It's so much better than my previous android phones (Samsung, Huawei) and the interface is also nicer that my Huawei interface that was the same (all icons on the 'desktop' basically, instead of going to a menu to open an app, I like that more and makes thing quicker to access). I've had it since 22/03/2016. Bought mine at Game.

I ordered a cover today from http://mia.africa.com/za/accessories-za/redmi-note-2 (as Number Six mentioned in this post), I did comment them about the cover though after the order (via twitter) as the photo of the cover and phone is the Redmi Note 3 but product still states the Redmi Note 2. So I'll see after a get the package and update you guys. R99 is cheap and its a good solid cover (they state the phone is scratch proof etc, google for 'Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 scratch test' videos). But, better save than sorry, plus I like my phone cover to have a nice grip to it.

With this phone you can get into settings that is normally locked down by the manufacturer of other android phones, love that if you want to test something.

If you goto 'settings' 'about' then tap multiple times on 'kernel version', it opens the 'QC test' menu. The other one is tap multiple times on 'Internal Memory' it opens the 'Testing' Menu.

Thanks for the write up. Very informative. I got my Redmi Note 2 today from Takealot. So will play with it later. From all he reviews I've read and watched it looks like a solid phone for the money
