wabbit update your firmware. Was Wifi on, i've noticed that it's a drain? Even then your battery drain is not normal.

WiFi is off but both SIM cards are active. I've got 7.2.2 at home. I'll bash it on when I am finished with work and report back

Alright. Updated to 7.2.2, will see what difference it makes.

Wifi was actually turned on, but not connected to anything. My mistake there. See screenshots below:

Install Cyangenmod on it. It makes the phone so much better, it runs cooler, faster and better battery

What's the easiest way to obtain root? Kingroot doesn't seem to want to work for me despite a lot of folks over on xda getting it to work

To root it I just flashed TWRP to it then flashed SuperSU. Was super easy and you still get OTA which TWRP installs then I just root with SuperSU app again.

I read somewhere that the IR doesn't work on CM, so stayed away for now.

Hmmmm, i might try root and see if i can under clock the CPU a bit. There is a guide on xda that i have bookmarked somewhere.

I'll report back this weekend. Thanks for the links

Edit: i couldn't get the temporary TWRP recovery to work by using fastboot boot recovery.img. I kept on getting Remote Failure errors. I'm not so keen on permanently overwriting the stock recovery partition so I'll try again some other time or wait until the device ID supported by Kingroot

Battery life is improving a bit :)

EDIT: I also received update 7.2.3 via OTA today. A small update @ 7.6mb, but it took quite some time to install. I didn't see any difference though....

Anyone tried (and succeeded) getting a Xiaomi device in from china?

The Redmi 3, redmi 3 pro and redmi note 3 look really tempting.... especially in this economy

Jislaaik, that battery usage is bad. And I was still set in buying me a Redmi Note 2.
I got myself a LG G4 stylus for the time being (my Galaxy S4 is dying), promised my daughter she can have it after a few months, when I get myself the Redmi Note 2. But compairing battery life, I'm shocked.
Wonder how the Redmi Note 3's usage will look like.

Here's my battery usage on the G4 Stylus:

Don't have one yet. Want to get one. But the battery doesnt look good.

What's your usage like? As on my G4 I can get up to 2 days with medium usage, but if I go full on I can get maybe a day at a stretch.
My wife has the Note 2 and she can get around 12 hours of full on usage and about 35 hours or so on low to moderate usage, but she's normally on high usage as she's always on the phone. It also seems if you've got the second sim in the battery takes a nosedive.

Ah ****bricks. Sorry to hear that, mate. I am keeping mine in an old glasses cleaning bag thingy until my goods arrive from overseas.

Is it bad? Does your digitizer still work properly? You can get replacement screens for cheap on ebay and the disassembly process seems quite easy, FWIW
