Such a brilliant device and so much of customisation options beyond stock Android. My favourite feature is the DND option that can be scheduled. Also, the glass on the screen is far thicker than what I've felt on the Huawei's.

Good. Now give us the Redmi Note 3 or Mi Max.
Seriously doubt these units will make their way here thanks to the Samsung/ iPhone hungry SA public, who only buy phones based on name and are ignorant about utilities.

The IC special didn't move many units and I suspect the Takelote promo didn't either.

How much did incredible have the note 2 for. Note 2 got sold out in a day, they had about 50 units

Problem is consumers don't like gambling on nonname brands..

The SA public have shifted from contracts to prepaid very quickly. Brands like Mobicel, Ag Chrome and Hisense have devices in every price point to attract the general public that was once the proving ground for now premium device manufacturer Huawei. If we are getting the Mi5 then I'll highly expect the Note 3 to launch a bit after.

One of the branches still had stock throughout the special and the fact that theres zero accessories with the devices is worrying.

What do you do if your battery goes or you crack the screen?

Im happy with my Redmi Note 2. Does everything i want from a phone. Honestly, for me these days, a phone is just that, a phone with a few extras.

I tried Mortal Kombat from the Play Store and it runs super smooth. Now that's amazing performance. Only issue I had was Gmail losing sync after the update so I disabled memory optimisation from the developers menu.

Are you using the stock Gmail app? I'm finding using a 3rd party Gmail app and it doesn't work great with push settings

I'm using stock and CloudMagic apps. Both are working fine here after turning off memory optimisation. I also turned off contacts sync. Installed Echo Lockscreen to get more info from notifications.

Cheers I'll have a look in the Dev options. I'll try cloud magic again. Using blu mail, which is nice.

I'm using the stock lockscreen, but using an app that is similar to Samsungs always on.

With Echo your screen will automatically turn on when there's a new notification and turn off afterwards. You can set the time period. Will check out the glance screen type apps. Cheers.
