Use the plastic that was covering the screen originally to get the dimensions and first apply heat to the edges you are cutting to prevent them from bending and losing their stickiness. Clean well with LCD screen cleaner and apply. For the back you can also use that carbon wrap you get at the car sound and mod shops :)

Thanks not a bad idea, but my wife wants a flip cover, like she had on her samsung.

I amazed at the amount of people willing to pay R7999 for this phone on TA

We're getting a raw deal with local pricing but the phone is still cheaper compared to others with the same hardware - the LG G5 with the same Snapdragon SOC is around 3k more.

I wonder what'll happen first, Note 2 dropping to R2500 again or the Redmi 3 finally available locally :crying:

My One M7 is, due to a failed speaker, finally off to greener pastures... or my 2-year-old's grubby paws. I passed my LG G4 down to my SO, and picked up the Note 2 on Takelot's promo a couple of weeks ago. What an impressive bit of kit for the money! If Xiaomi can maintain this price/performance ratio, we can finally both break the 24 month upgrade cycle. Given the price I don't think I've been more satisfied with a tech purchase in the last decade or so.

MIUI's disregard for alphabetic order and app drawers annoyed me for the first half a day, until I remembered that I bought Nova Launcher yonks ago. All I'm missing now is DT2W...

The Redmi Note 2 can stand up to the P9 Lite which costs twice as much. Even at R3000 it's a bargain.

On a side-note: The audio quality is better than anything I've heard from the big brands. The system wide EQ works across all apps and even the FM Radio.

Not sure why you swapped the LG G4 for the Note 2 though? The Note 2 is a good phone, but the LG G4 is a better phone.

After some testing of various gel covers at the mall, I found the iPhone 6 Plus cover fits the Redmi Note 2 well. I just have to punch out holes for the camera, headphone jack and charging port.

Oh, I know. But my wife wanted a phone we could get a flip cover for easily and she now has a much, much better camera than on the M7 with which to take impromptu snappies of our toddler. Other than that, LG annoyed me with their unwillingness to release a bootloader unlock... and the Xaiomi is new.

The G4 is undoubtedly better by almost, if not every metric, but there's pretty much nothing in it in day-to-day usage. The gap between flagships and decent midrange phones has become insignificant if one doesn't get hung up on spec sheets. :)

If there's anything resembling a China Mall around your area, the (admittedly big) one by us had three or four stores with gel covers for this phone...

Not the chinamall by us :-( only the really popular phones, though none of the cellphone shops in our china mall were run by chinese people.
