I see Takealot are taking pre-orders for the Mi Band with Heart Rate monitor for R399.

It's about time, the new Mi Band has been released. I wonder if we will ever see it here?

That's not a bad price actually, considering that a vanilla Mi Band without the heart rate sensor goes for ~R300 on Bidorbuy

I asked the MIA Group about it and they said they're waiting for confirmation from their sources. Also the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon should be listed within a week or so, but only the 16/2GB ram version.

I'm now in the Meizu train since Xiaomi is now in the same price range as other flagships

Really? They have a R13k phone now? Last I saw their top range phone is R8k which isn't flagship pricing since about 3 years ago.

What's the contracts like?
About the same as any phone in that price range.
Also Meizu and one plus phones aren't easy to get here and if they were they'd be priced about the same.
Look I do think the m5 is expensive, but the other offerings from them are really priced right.

I'm going to import it with a friend ad a gift, that should work?

The Mi5 is about R350pm the last time I checked. Fair price compared to the G5 and P9. As long as the Mi4 is on the market, the price of the Mi5 will continue to remain high. I hope at some point it would drop. We've already seen a temporary price drop to R7499.

I too got the 7.3.3 update on my Redmi Note 2 this morning. I haven't noticed anything different besides a popup when launching an app for the first time where you need to confirm or deny the permissions that the app is requiring.

I'll see what else is new during the course of the day

I've mostly noticed apps run smoother and open faster on the new update. Gmail notifications and sync are working properly again.

The themes available from the Theme Store are truly amazing. Just downloaded a theme that scrolls notifications across the lock screen and adds an LED visualizer to the lock screen when playing music. It's called DROID LM.

I love the themes. Some of them are just awesome

Please let us know when you hear back?

Hi there, I've gotten a reply back from them.
They said that they'll be getting the Redmi Note 3 with the SD650 but only in 16/2GB ram, I'm not sure why though. As well as the Redmi 3 Pro with the SD616, 32/3GB ram model. They're also waiting to hear about the new Mi Band 2.

I'm curious as to when they'll have the Redmi 3 Pro available locally. Was waiting for it for months but I eventually gave up and just bought the Redmi 2 instead...
