Is this legit: http://www.oppomart.com/phones/xiaomi-redmi-note3.html

It's a legit site, know of people who bought from them. Just, the phone is a 2.2Ghz MTK processor, but on GSMARENA, they only mention a 2.0GHz MTK and the Snapdragon models.

Well, it's a good price though. $149 for a Note 3. That's R1871. Plus import duties, you'll save over a thousand Rand.....right.

Seems the T version of the MTK chipset is a bit faster: http://www.androidheadlines.com/201...rsions-mediateks-helio-x10-soc-explained.html

Talking about the base version of MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset, the MT6795M comes with the aforementioned Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz and the PowerVR G6200 GPU clocked at 550 MHz. The mid-level MT6795 (without the ‘M’ or ‘T’ moniker) comes with the exact same clock speed on its CPU, but sees the GPU clock bumped up to 700 MHz, and also includes support for WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display panels. The top-end version (MT6795T, where ‘T’ stands for Turbo) meanwhile sees its CPU clock speed get a boost to 2.2 GHz. The rest of the specs stay the identical to that of the MT6795 version.

Click bait. If you select a color it automagically add $30 to the price... making it more expensive then geekbuying etc.

List of devices that will get the update today:

"The company also noted that only a select few devices will get the MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM as an OTA update on Tuesday. These are the Redmi 1S, Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 3G, and Redmi Note 4G. The rest of the eligible devices will get their updates in the "near future". Xiaomi also announced that MIUI 8 China Stable ROM will start rolling out from Wednesday as well."

I noticed the wifi receiver on the Note 2 is quite powerful, much better than the Galaxy S4 I used to have.

http://www.androidcentral.com/xiaom...core-helio-x20-soc-4100mah-battery-and-miui-8

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Note 4, the first phone to offer MIUI 8 out of the box. The phone retains the 5.5-inch Full HD display as the Redmi Note 3, but we're now looking at a metal unibody design with chamfered edges and much-needed 2.5D glass at the front.
I love my Redmi Note 2. Will grab whatever they have in two years time.

Xiaomi should now expand to the US to claim back that title of 3rd most selling smartphones. Huawei don't even update their mid to low range devices. Don't know why people are going crazy over them. Atleast with Miui you'll get that much needed security updates even on 4-6 year old devices. I love my Mi band pulse and Xiaomi powerbank. It's nice to wake up gently in the morning and be able to track my sleep. Miui is also a great skin and what iOS and in some instances stock android should have been.
