It was sent on the 29th of July via Asendia, whereafter it switched to SAPO on the 12th of August. I saw on the Deliveries Android app that it said "First Notification to Client" at midday so I swung away from work to go pick it up with my ID Document and tracking number. There was no notice of any customs fee added, but the lady said there was R41.80 due which I paid. It was something like R20 clearance fee and R20 customs in total

Sapo employee tax because a label on package indicates due fees.

Wabbit16's unofficial quick 15-minute review of the Mi Band 2:

All charged up! The battery is fully charged after approx. 1h30min via my PC USB 2.0 port. I have it set to track my sleep, wake me up in the mornings and send me notifications when my phone rings and when I receive SMS'es.

Will report back tomorrow with the battery percentage to monitor the drain

The reason I stated before that the Mi Fit app was confusing is that when launched you are thrown onto the Status page that shows your total steps, distance walked and calories burned as a percentage of your goal steps (mine is 10'000). Beneath the main graph is a section that says 'No sleep data' which will probably have some info after tonight. Below that is my current weight (you enter it when you setup your profile along with your height, age and gender):

Clicking on the circle with the current steps brings up this graph of your activity per day:

The sleep data will probably populate after tonight:

Clicking on your weight brings this up, which you can also track if you purchase Xiaomi's Smart Bluetooth Scale. Or you could, you know, enter it manually every few days if weight loss is your goal:

Heartrate measurements also feature as does your recent ones:

I'll post up the rest later when I get a gap:D

Thanks.

Images aren't working.

Does it warn you when your phone is left behind /disconnected?
I'll fix images when I am at the PC again. Funny, I can see them just fine. Must be a permissions issue or smth

I haven't checked whether it does warn you but I assume not. I moved downstairs while it was charging and my phone never notified me. Whether at that stage the Band vibrated I am not sure.

Edit: I turned my BT off and the Band didn't have so much as a hiccup. Did a few heart rate measurements and turned BT on again on the phone and opened up the Mi Fit app. It said 'connecting to band' for a few seconds and then carried on as normal

They've move back to Mediatek for the Note 4.
That's quite a bold move.
I hope it doesn't impact the battery life at all like it does with the Note 2. Not saying the MTK-based phones have inferior battery life but that's the notion I've been getting from articles and discussions on different hardware sites.

The Mi Band 2 survived the night (I also fixed my pics a few posts up) and my first night of sleep data has been populated:

It is also pleasantly waterproof as I tested it while I was in the shower. The only gripe I had was the fact that water droplets set off the capacitive button on the front which means the combined motion of showering and the droplets falling on it meant it stayed on for pretty much the entire time I was in the shower, toggling between screens and measuring my heart rate a few times as well.

The silent alarm can be snoozed via the Mi Band 2 but there is no way to turn it off unless you start moving. I was lying in bed reading some messages and the alarm went off again 10 minutes later. I thought that by registering that you are using the phone the Band would assume you are awake, but it needed me to physically get out of bed in order for me to get the alarm turned off.

Battery is still at 100%, even after enabling sleep data which purportedly drains the battery a lot more

That is not bad, I paid ~R60 on a $6 item. I had VAT that was also charged. Will see what happens when I order my Mi Band 2

So MIUI 8 rolled out to mine and my wife's Redmi Note 2, still lollipop at it's core. Also not sure I like the changes.

Have you tried to use the Bluetooth to unlock phone? Mine takes a few seconds and sometimes it doesn't even bother.

I don't see Trusted places under Miui. Seems they took it out :(

What don't you like? The new notification centre is great for me the old one came from the Jellybean days and irked me.

The quick slide down, now it's like marshmallows where I've got to scroll down to get to hotspot etc... Suppose I could stop being lazy and just configure it :)

I do use Bluetooth unlock. I've set it to the middle setting (you get to choose between 'close', 'near' or 'far') and it does fail to register every now and then. I think it's when the Bluetooth on my phone goes into a sort of sleep mode. It then takes a second or two before it picks up that the Band is nearby.

Trusted places on my Moto G was awesome. I do miss that :(
