.. no SD card slot ..
The reason these goons might've done this, is because of the fact that Android KitKat 4.4 which is on this phone - shows how out-of-date they are putting an OS on like that - prevented writing to SD Card unlike earlier Android versions did, and (presumably all ?) later versions ie. 5.0/5.1 & 6 do.

Which doesn't explain the fact that they've also put KitKat onto the cheaper phone they're releasing, with SD Card capability. Means that to download mp3's / mp4's and to transfer them to the card, you'll need to root your phone.

How to fix the ''write to SD card'' problem on KitKat

This fix assumes your device is rooted.
I had to do exactly that to the last phone I bought with version 4.4.4 on it.

They're mindless idiots putting KitKat onto phones at the end of 2015 already, and my advice is for everyone to not buy these phones 'til they release them with at least v. 5.1 on them.

I am so annoyed.

Registered for the Xiaomi "flash sale".

The Mi4 will be available in store(makro etc) @R 3799.

Guess how much it costs during the "flash sale".

I have no words just WTF?

What a waste of my day.
