The Mi Box supports Dolby TrueHD etc and automatic frame rate switching which the Mi Box S does not but neither of those things work with Netflix, so if we're talking purely Netflix, either or is suitable. If you're also going to use Plex or Kodi etc to watch local files with HD audio and you're sensitive to judder the Mi Box is better.

Edit: That being said I know the S version currently has a beta firmware programme running so it's not inconceivable that the S will also have frame rate switching at some point this year but I doubt it will ever have HD audio.

thanks - just netflix and I have plex on my cloud server at the moment

Am I the only one that has an issue with external HDD since the last update?
Seem like the HDD goes into sleep mode or something. Most nights when I get home and want to watch something on Kodi on HDD it only loads a while and then returns to menu. I would then have to reconnect HDD or reboot Mi Box for it to read from HDD again.

Will check when I get home tonight. Haven't watched anything on kodi since update.

Since the upgrade my picture doesnt seem to fit properly on Youtube videos . I have it set to (fit screen) . Do i need to change resolution ? Some of the wording seems to dissapear of the edge of the screen

have also had this issue where I have to change the display to 93% for everything to fit. Then at other times I have to change it back to 100% as it doesnt fit in properly. Always figured its coz i used different screens with the mi box.

Never had the problem, but then I use a Full HD monitor and not a TV.

So I got myself one of them mini keyboards from raztech - and guess what ...it doesn't work on the Mi box S
Anyone else have one and it works? Or know how to get it working?
It does work on my HPH-NT8 android box.

I alternate between the two. TV and a wide screen so I guess thats where the issue comes and i just unplug teh one and plug the other. Besides that there isnt any other issue on my mi box and all works smoothly from wifi to netflix to youtube. Still an awesome lil box.

I'm looking for a cheap tv box, with Netflix support. I have a Mi Box on my main TV, so happy with that.
I just need something to replace my Cloudgate Circle on my braai room projector. The Cloudgate isn't up to the challenge anymore (slow, outdated and buggy, also gatvol of working an air mouse).
I mainly use it for my 80's Youtube playlist, when braaing and entertaining. But the kids sometimes park there to watch Netflix, too.

The Skyworth looks nice, but no Netflix out of the box. Don't want to put to much effort in getting things to work. So anything cheapish, that works good?
If all else fails, I'll just go for a second Mibox. Though it feels over kill, for just youtube and on occations, Netflix.
