So I got myself one of them mini keyboards from raztech - and guess what ...it doesn't work on the Mi box S
Anyone else have one and it works? Or know how to get it working?
It does work on my HPH-NT8 android box.

I have this "Rii" mini keyboard. Looks similar to yours. Mine is just plug & play. No issues.

I have the original Mi Box though, not the "S". So not sure if there's extra steps for that to follow.

I'm looking for a cheap tv box, with Netflix support. I have a Mi Box on my main TV, so happy with that.
I just need something to replace my Cloudgate Circle on my braai room projector. The Cloudgate isn't up to the challenge anymore (slow, outdated and buggy, also gatvol of working an air mouse).
I mainly use it for my 80's Youtube playlist, when braaing and entertaining. But the kids sometimes park there to watch Netflix, too.

The Skyworth looks nice, but no Netflix out of the box. Don't want to put to much effort in getting things to work. So anything cheapish, that works good?
If all else fails, I'll just go for a second Mibox. Though it feels over kill, for just youtube and on occations, Netflix.
Chromecast?

Crazy! They were going for just over R1k recently. I totally missed that they had gotten so expensive

Yeah, I bought mine for R900 on special, a year ago. Specials are far and wide, these days. Even getting local stock is harder. I'll probably look at sourcing from outside, if I don't get something good/cheap locally.

The Mi Box S is missing a kernel driver for several wifi remotes, it's the same for a lot of Amlogic S905X devices.
I don't see them fixing it anytime soon unless hundreds of people complain.
Xiaomi also closed their forum for the Mi Box where everyone complained about bugs, so it will be very difficult to report it.
You can only hope in 6 months time, they released a couple of ota updates and one of them fixed the issue.

BTW, the same remote is about half price(<R200) on Gearbest including shipping and taxes than from Raztech.

Get a Mi-Box, no hassles or recriminations later. A Telkom LIT box might be a little cheaper, check the specials.

Thanks xbmcfan, now I know. Hmm that MeCool starting to look more and more attractive.
I got the remote for R250 from Loot ;) (Still Raztech - filled by Loot)

Yeah, I think so too. I changed my mind last night, after the kids told me they use Plex too. Not in much of a hurry, will see if there is a special somewhere this month. Otherwise I'll get one from Amazon or Gearbest.

The Mi Box S has a firmware update available, it's the same one we got on the normal Mi Box a few weeks ago to add frame rate switching, fix wakeup, Wi-Fi etc
