I'm looking for a cheap tv box, with Netflix support. I have a Mi Box on my main TV, so happy with that.
I just need something to replace my Cloudgate Circle on my braai room projector. The Cloudgate isn't up to the challenge anymore (slow, outdated and buggy, also gatvol of working an air mouse).
I mainly use it for my 80's Youtube playlist, when braaing and entertaining. But the kids sometimes park there to watch Netflix, too.

The Skyworth looks nice, but no Netflix out of the box. Don't want to put to much effort in getting things to work. So anything cheapish, that works good?
If all else fails, I'll just go for a second Mibox. Though it feels over kill, for just youtube and on occations, Netflix.
Try the Roku express

Try the Roku express

Will I be able to use my Rii i25 keyboard with it (currently using the Rii with the Cloudgate). As I had an Roku stick years ago and it was not nice to navigate Youtube with the remote. Also, is Youtube faster on the Express, as it was slow on the stick.
With the MiBox 3, I use my phone as the keyboard.

Was not mentioned as a criteria

Yeah, just pointing out a limitation of Roku devices, which may become an issue down the road. If he should change his mind or circumstances change and he can afford to shell out for another device, all is fine and dandy ...

Got and did this update, but then I got another update for what looked like the same fixes and improvements, but it was bout 640MB - anybody else?
Yip was the same for my Mibox 3 a while ago. The first time I ran the update it broke my box further. Second time the update ran (about a week later) it fixed the issues. All running smoothly now, no issues.

It does something if you use IPTV.

I see that there is a live TV app on my 4. I can't remember seeing it before the update.

Jumped on this train last week after searching everywhere...all sold out except for HiFi Corp. Purchase to delivery from Durban took 3 days to Cape Town so I'm chuffed!

Got the latest update earlier and everything runs smooth as silk for what I need...basically just DSTV Now, Showmax, Netflix and Spotify. The kids love the that they can cast their Youtube vids and Spotify to TV by just being on the same wifi network.

Never had any issues YET and when I plugged in it was on 1080p 60Hz from the get go.

Great little Google certified Android Tv bang for buck device!

Damn, that's almost like me ... get the USB right way round on the 5th try :X3:

EDIT: would have helped if the guy actually had a tongue to explain, but nonetheless, that looks like a wifi dongle thingy he connected for the controller?? ....
my USB port is in use, so I would prefer a BT option ??
