Online.Online or walk in and pay cash ?
Never had that problem. My one Mibox always starts in safe mode. Has this happened to anyone else or do you know how to fix it?
Soul Assissan is correct, you don't need to be a dealer to buy from them. I bought an item from them back in 2012 online and asked someone to pick it for me.Online or walk in and pay cash ?
I got tired of waiting for mibox S stock at cheaper places so just ordered from geewiz today. There it is.
My first MI Box just arrived.
Can't wait to get home now![]()

Did you manage to setup smartdns (Getflix / Smartdnsproxy) directly on the Mi Box?Using smart DNS. I've been using both those servers u mentioned. I don't want all devices to have this that's y I'm trying to set up on the mi box.
I change the specific wifi connection settings from dhcp to static and add the the 2 servers. Once I do that the connection changes to no internet.

Noticed my mibox 3 no longer responds to voice commands, button works but doesn't register my voice. Maybe the remote fell one too many times.
Thanks, will try that later today. Had not noticed this issue before but never really used voice much anyway as the voice recognition is way less accurate than on phone / Google home etc.I have had the same problem , I find that if you just unplug it and reboot it then the mic works again . Hopefully the next update will fix this issue
How much was that?So I got a cheap usb to ethernet adapter at Pick n Pay and it works a charm! Our room the furthest distance away from the router so theres where the wifi struggles came for me.
I moved between our and kids rooms and it performs much better the closer it is to modem so kids room had no issues.
Anyway it was plug n play and problems solved!![]()

How's your impression of the older 3 vs the newer S so far?Well, I have the 3 and will have the S by tomorrow (hopefully). So I'll be able to compare the experience soon. I won't be able to comparing the update cycle, now. We'll have to wait and see on that one.
So far I have no issues with the 3. Streaming via wifi from the start. Even play GTA V on it (wink wink) via wifi.

My S got delivered and I set it up today. For me it's 99% the same experience, but I noticed a few things.
On my old 3 remote, I prefer the raised home button in the center, and back button on the left. The S has the back button raised in the center and home on the right which just feels wrong. I also prefer the 3's slightly more raised circle navigation, as well as the overall thinner edge and feel in the hand.
The apps and Netflix buttons are nice to have on the S, albeit a bit unnecessary.
The 3 remote is overall simpler and I slightly prefer it being less cluttered ... Although I'll probably get used to the S remote in a few days.
Will be able to test WiFi at a bigger place in a few days to see if I can notice any difference.
First impressions having used both, I'd say stick with the 3 and save a few hundred bucks.
+1 and +1, Agree on both the remote and price point. If you can get the 3 for cheaper, get that one. S is on 8.1 and the 3 on 8.0, is there any indication that the 3 will go higher in Android TV versions (something to consider)?
Further more, same experience, same layout on screen. Only new thing I can see, is the addition of an App drawer.
They moved the back button, from the side to the middle, keep pressing the wrong button. But I'll get use to it.
Also, don't know if I'm mistaken, but it feels like the S have more unnecessary apps pre-installed, that I can't use. Had to disable a few, to get them of the home screen.
One more thing, looks like an import from America, has it had the converter from US to EU plug, with.
This only from a short while of testing. I'll probably have more time to look at it next week, as I'm a bit side tracked this week and weekend.
This would be my exact advice and we have a 3 and a 4s in the house. How's your impression of the older 3 vs the newer S so far?

The only reason I'm not returning the S is the small hope of longer software updatesThis would be my exact advice and we have a 3 and a 4s in the house.
I can't say that the wifi performance on the 4s was any better. I still had to go the ethernet route for it to work reliably.
I'm also not a fan of the way the buttons are laid out on the new remote. A small irritation but still and irritation.
I'd say get the 3 if you can find one.
