Howzit guys just bought the box off loot for R 1199

It says it has a RJ45 port, does it?
Which usb adapters can i use.?
No it doesn't, but if you plug an external in, it will give 1Gbps speed (adapter permitting)

You also won't get the full 1000Mbps due to the USB 2.0 port on the Mi Box but it will be faster than Wi-Fi.

If you get a USB 3.0 1000Mbps adapter you can probably get around 200Mbps, if you have an amazing AP or router in the same room as the Mi Box it might be faster.
Is this even relevant if your maximum download speed from the Internet is less than 100Mbps?

Anybody with one of these they'd like to sell at a good price into a good home? I desperately need one, but I'm being forced to save for a holiday. I'll take it on long walks, make sure it's fed, encourage it to read books...

Yes because you use Plex on your internal network.

Still don't need 1Gbps for plex, the higher the better of course, but still not needed. This is a pic from the interwebz, will take one at home of my setup too. Even Netflix 4K suggest 25Mbps, local Plex won't be close to 1Gbps.

I want to cancel my Dstv subscription and stream tv, like YouTube, Netflix and other programs via Wi-Fi as I have uncapped, unshaped fibre at home
I want to also share my daughters subscription with Dstv to help her save costs and use Dstv Now

What do I need to do this, do I need a smart tv and android box etc.

Please can someone help me with as much Info as possible

Either smart tv or android box. Don't need both. Can then install apps

Install dstv. Use her account to log in and view shows
Netflix, YouTube, teatv, mobdro all work great

I last used US Netflix with a VPN before the clamp down several years ago.

Thinking about accessing the US and UK Netflix offerings again. Anyone got a VPN solution that just works?
