Yea. They royally screwed up the Oreo update. Extract from the Xiaomi forums

WiFi problems are due to the buggy drivers in the new v4.9.54 AMLogic Linux Kernel, that is exactly the source of the issues.

Xiaomi quite obviously do not have the Linux Kernel developer skills to fix such issues. They need to pressure AMLogic continually to fix such bugs, and it definitely looks like not enough priority has been given to fix such bugs. It's been months and months now which is unacceptable for the mainstream public.

It does not matter which version of Android TV Oreo / P - OS that runs on top, if fundamental problems are not fixed in the underlying Kernel then there will be continual ongoing issues for ALL these cheap AMLogic S905X - Android TV - Oreo media player platforms (eg, MECOOL KM8, Jetstream and more to come)

All this Finger pointing with 3 parties included into the ATV mix - Xiaomi, AMLogic and Google is a fundamentally flawed media player development model IMHO.
Semi demanding media player users need to look elsewhere, unless by some miracle bugs get fixed.

When I open BBC iPlayer, the app screen looks zoomed and the remote commands are inactive. I can't navigate to menu, settings and to play VOD. From which app store did you source the BBC iPlayer?

Got it from the Aptoide TV store. Currently on version 4.55.1.1

The screen on mine does not look zoomed in at all. Looks fine.
I use a Rii mini keyboard and trackpad combo with that app.

Try out TVplayer App as well (it's got all the itv channels, CNN and a host of other anchor channels available on the DStv platform at 1080p resolution.

LiveNetTV is my go-to app for that.

Posted similar in the LIT thread, but maybe guys here can advise.

I would like to connect two gamepads to my Android TV Box via bluetooth. For some multiplayer gaming. Nothing intense, maybe playing the odd driving game etc.

Anybody have any experience doing this? Any recommended controllers to buy?

I tried connecting an old PS3 controller with no luck :(

I was just messing around this weekend, maybe Real Racing? Fifa? Emulated retro games. Looking to play some games where my wife and I can both play

The Gamesir G4's are R600 each - the pads will end up costing more then the box lol.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I got mine for PC gaming. As a bonus it is also android compatible.

I'm sure there are cheapies out there.

I dont know of any native android games that support 2 players.

Emulation is probably your best bet.
There may also be apps that let you use your smartphone as a controller.

Very late to the party but I finally tried out the AceStream app (readily available via the Google Play Store) inputing the relevant content ID (you can find those on reddit) for each particular stream. Using it on the Mi Box.

At the moment watching some EPL footy at 1080p. So far only some minor initial buffering on a 20Mbps line. Smooth after that.

I'll test it some more and maybe tinker with some of the settings, but most probably will make this my go-to live-streaming app on the Mi.

Would love to hear more once you've tested it and can provide more detail on how to go about :)

After streaming Plex, YouTube, DStv, Spotify and Netflix, my Play Now section on the home screen is still empty.

Is there any way for me to get this to show content or hide it?

I bought mine last week from Incredible Corruption for 100 bucks more than the Takealot non sale price because I couldn't wait any longer
