It's quite decently specced though, and that pressure sensitive thing could be good for games - I have no idea how but it's an extra level of control which could be useful.

For the money the specs are quite fantastic. However, once it's in SA I suppose it'll roughly double in price. :(
Can't wait for the 15 articles comparing it to the S10 or the Hauwei P20 or whatever.

And then in July we will get the Pocophone F2 that with the same specs bar LCD + Plastic cover at half the price.

Yay competition.

That your example? Not ASUS ROG which seems like a truly useful phone. You pick the one from 2003?
I picked that one to show what a gaming focused phone is like when the idea was initially proposed,

today?

your s10 and flagships do a better job of gaming than many "gaming" focused phone.
but got to sell gamers phones, as anything with gaming spells money.
even though for the "gaming" branding adds 2K worth of value.

Damn, those bezels in 2019. Awful.

I'll take the bezel-less OnePlus 7 in June rather thanks.

If you want to make phone calls, use a phone

If you want to play games, buy a PC or console

I've never trusted phones to act as pure gaming units.

You wouldn't buy a car at a Fruit 'n Veg outlet would you?

The Black Shark 2 is available in China and is priced from ¥3,199 (around R6,875).
For that much you are treading into PS4 / XBOX territory, i'd pick a real gaming machine in that case

Since when did you use your phone as a phone? You probably use it for porn and whatsapp
but I still use it as a phone, and it should work as a phone,
as a mini PS4? dont know if it will work so well.

Good luck taking that with you on your morning commute, or in my case shopping with the SO.

I don't want to spend R26k on a "flagship" phone, rather a R9k on a very decent one that is comparable, if not somewhat better, than these "flagship" phones

I think someone here has bought into the hype of Samsung & Apple
