There is no reason not to do both, facial recognition is really fast and unless you know people walk around with your photo should be fine for 99% of people and for the paranoid people they can use iris scanning.

This is of course only really for the people that feel the fingerprint scanner is in an awkward spot.

I've seen iris scanning with Windows Hello so I'm not sure how much faster you can go with facial recognition.
