Yealink T31P: setup to allow keypad keypad menu choices?

I have a Yealink T31P IP Phone, making calls with no problem over a Vumatel fibre network with Telkom as ISP. However I cannot enter keypad numbers as menu choices.
Example of calling a medical aid: "Hello, this is ABC! Please enter 1 if you are a member, 2 if you would like to join, 3 if you are a health professional."

My Yealink does NOT respond at all to an entry of 1, or 2, or ANY digit on the keypad.

The Nology (SA Yealink distributor) consultant understood the problem, was helpful, and suggested I use the IP address from my computer to enter the Yealink setup, and change the DTMF Type from "RFC2833" to "RFC2833 + SIP INFO".

However this made no difference. There were 2 other DTMF-related settings in the setup but the alternate values for them didn't make any difference either.

Anyone have the answer to this apparently simple requirement?

This morning I successfully upgraded the firmware on my Yealink T31P handset from 124.86.0.40 to the 124.86.0.75 as you suggested.
Checked that Nology-recommended changes to the DTMF type were still there.
Unfortunately no change: handset still doesn't recognise digits entered during a call.
Any other suggestions?
