Yoga anyone?

So i'm interested in taking up Yoga. Just wondering if anyone on the forum practises it and whether or not it's as good as they say it is.

Anyone know of any decently priced classes to take in the Fourways area?

I was thinking R300 - R400. I don't really know how expensive it is. Do you pay per lesson or do you pay for the month?

I don't have the patience for yoga, it just does not suit my temperament. Tried it, but nope ... would rather punish my body in more obvious ways.

II understand what you mean blunomore. The only thing that concerns me is will i have the patience for it. I don't want to do strenuous exercise. I want to take a calmer approach and clear my mind and rid myself of emotional crap. I live day to day constantly stressed out and in the process i keep getting sick all the time. I think it's time for a lifestyle change and i'm hoping Yoga is the answer.

You could also look at www.collagevideo.com to see if there are any other DVDs that might be suitable. There is a short clip for each DVD to give you a better idea of what to expect. Take a look at the Pilates Workout for Dummies or Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred for example to see whether or not they might be suitable. You should be able to find the more popular titles locally from Loot, Take2, Bidorbuy etc.

Can't you just join Virgin and use the R300-R400 to pay the membership? I'm with Virgin thru Vitality, so don't actually know what the monthly membership fee is.

Freakboy: I suppose i could do that but then it's trying to find a virgin close to me that does yoga. The one in fourways doesn't. I was hoping there was a studio close to my house that i could just pop to after work.

I'm at Virgin and the Joga classes are at horrible times so i can never go. They cater for the rich aunties at home

I found the same thing. The times are ridiculous. Who's at home at 15h00 in the afternoon and 10h00 in the morning??

try Yoga warrior - i think they have a branch in 4ways.... will go look for the website for you.

Check out the website and the time tables for your club or pop in the door ask for a time table no one has to know you are considering the joining thing . When i was in Menlyn's virgin it had better times for yoga.
