It says the offer is directed at people affected by the storage size cuts to OneDrive. Doesn't seem the average Joe is going to get a free sub.

I never understood MS's reasoning that storage must be capped at 1TB because a few people upload tens of terabytes. Why not make the storage 5TB then?

If you currently use more than 5GB, chances are you will get an invite. Check under your "Upgrade" section for OneDrive.
