It's not exacty as easy for them as you think. I know a Zimbabwean national working in the IT industry and he's been in SA since 2014 as he initially came to study. He still does not have SA citizenship as Home Affairs gives him a hard time.

There are plenty of them in the SA Universities and they tend on average to perform quite well academically. You will be surprised to know that there are Zimbabweans in SA working menial jobs who have qualifications. They have to do those jobs as many jobs are reserved for SA citizens.

They usually have to be proved why they should be hired ahead of a local.

Totally agree, the Zim guys are some of the brightest and hardest IT workers.

Imagine if we can get black communities to do the same, build things and not burn things.

Hats off to the men and women of Orania trying to do something and not begging for things to be handed for free to them.
So how big is your community's solar plant?

It seems like expats and foreign students usually do perform better academically and not neccessaily just because they are not South African but more so because the requirements for them to gain admission are far tougher than as compared to what locals require.

Similarly, the SA students studying at foreign Unversities on average perform well because they have to meet the requirements. The average students from Zimbabwe are probably not getting accepted into SA Universities and the ones here are usually high performers, hence they tend to perform well academically.

Guys, where's all the hate and ridicule coming from?
Let people be. It's called freedom of association.
It's none of anyone's business what happens in Orania as it doesn't affect you.
If they are safe and happy, let them be.
Exactly.
Since when is wanting to live crime free and bring up their kids in a safe environment a crime?

My friends from Oz say that South Africans are one of the brightest and hardest IT workers. Maybe solution is for All Zim guys to migrate here and all South africans to migrate to Oz ?

Crazy expensive...I guess they don't really want them to have internet access...keeps The Village ignorant.
I don't think so. Good quality internet would be a boon for their economy.

Good quality internet would mean that the town will be open to people who have the ability to work remotly.

A safe town in the middle of nowhere with high quality internet would be my ideal place to live as I would be able to do astrophotography every night.
