Background.
Since a week ago, I cannot access my web space via FTP. (Viewing site is fine).
Sunday before Last (, I mailed a request to them asking to investigate. No Reply. OK, Last Sunday, I forwarded same mail again to support. Again, no reply.
Monday, I decided to phone. They could not tell me what is wrong. I asked whether they recieved my two e-Mails.
Telkom: Yes sir, we did.
Me: Now why did nobody answer me?.
Telkom: Sorry sir, have no idea.
Me: Can I speak to a manager?
Wait.
Later Manager came on line, and yes, they admit that BOTH my mails were received, but best they can do is to appologise that no answer were given. They will come back on Tuesday with a fault report.
Tuesday, I recieve a mail indicating that I have a file of 1.5Gb on my 10M websapce and that they decided that my account should be suspended UNTIL I remove said file.
I phone them.
Me: How must I remove the said file to gain access back if you have suspended my access.
Telkom: Sorry sir, we don't know.
Long discussion.......
Later.
Me: Can I speak to a manager?
Telkom: Sure sir, we put you tru.
Wait, wait............
Telkom: Sorry, sir, he is out, ......no, he is back, we put you tru.
wait wait
Telkom : Sorry sir, he is busy with other customer, but he will phone you back the moment he is finished with other customer.
Me: Thank You.
24 hours later (tonight) and NO reply call. I phone again.
Went through 3 consultants, to each one I have to explain problem over and over.
Last one: (after problem description)
Telkom: Your web space address sir?
Me: www.home.telkomsa.net\xxxxxxxx
Telkom: Is that with a .co.za sir?
Me: No, just as I gave it to you (actually spelled out the xxxxx).
Telkom: No sir, all SA domains MUST have .co.za.
Me: Long explanation.........
Telkom: OK, Sir, we will get somebody to phone you back.
Sigh........ And all I need is to gain access to remove the said large file. And please note, no warning of any sort that I was about to aceed my web space, neuther did they send an e-Mail to indicate that I was suspended.
Let's hold thumbs that we get it sorted tonight, but somehow, I do not have high hopes.
