As simple as what the title states.
Just curious.
Personally, not sure I would want the car back.
Mind me asking what's the difference VS they just taking it out of teh car park?not if it was stolen in a hijacking.
Do you get to pick whether or not you take the car back once recovered?Depends on the condition, I suppose. If it's relatively unmolested, sure.
Depends on what car it is.
If it is a every day car, then no, I would not like it back.
But say for instance its a classic sort of rare car (not that I would ever be able to afford one) then yes definitely.

Had it happen and the car we got back was trashed on the inside and it had a gear lock on, they burnt the clutch trying to drive it in 3rd. Ever since then I refuse to install a tracking device. If it's gone I want it paid out or replaced.
I don't want a tracking device because I've seen in four different vehicles how badly they're usually installed. Its no wonder cars develop rattles.
You also don't want to see the interior of the car after the guys have spent 20 minutes looking for it.
Agreed. Dash was ripped out, door panels torn off, seats slashed (don't know if this was just being spiteful) Seat belts cut off as they tried to make a tow rope. The car was farked. Insurance repaired it and I have to replace the clutch. Sure it was a Golf1 but still... Back then I promised myself never never never again.

I'm not sure, actually, but I believe that you can request it be written off on the basis of the condition.
