Well. mine was stolen a red bubble shape sentra. police call me after a month to come and identify it at the police station in retreat. they mess it up badly, took off my mags and replaced with steelies , take out my sound system, damage my ignition, my engine was covered in oil. 5 gear bad hopping out.

But it was still my car and i want it back. so after a running start i took her home and restore her after 4 months to a better condition. I Think because it was my first car i was very crazy over her. till today she is my first luv lol

At least you got your sentra back,
Same exact car, same exact colour stolen from an election station DURING elections

Dont know if I'd really want it back, probably messed up good by now....

But if i did how much would i have to spend to get it to the way I remember it

dont be too sure; if the tsotsis friend has a volvo and they need a certain part; they just go steal one like it;
even a low risk chinese car could be hijacked because they need something exactly like it; like a engine mounting or something.....

as to the subject at hand:

yes and no; yes to beat the fark out of them; and no becuse the car will be worthless after they installed the township modifications onto it!
still until today ; check every single red nissan sentra that goes by hoping Id see it.......

Honestly, you can stop looking. It's been chopped up and sold in parts.

its my first car, piece of metal that gets me around.. i dont pay anyone to use a piece of metal for 25hrs in a month.. except insurance which is not more than annual depreciation a value

Was it your car even?
And how did that happen, for them to give you a free vacation?

No, I wouldn't really want it back for the same reason as most the guys here.

Though, when I was 18 my dad bought me a brand new Honda Civic for R72,000. I looked after this car like gold and as I was a student, only had 15,000km when it was stolen 2 years later.

At that stage the car was R90,000+ new price and insurance gave me R54,000 ... Even the used oldest models with 70,000km on the clock were selling at R65,000!

Summary, even with insurance I couldn't afford to get the same car :( I guess in that case, if my Honda was found and looked/felt decent, I'd take it back

I always have this argument with family... I personally would not want to see it again.

If it's still newish (less than 5 years old), they can keep it. If it's older, I would like it back if it's not too badly damaged since the value insurance pays out probably won't cover a second hand equivalent.

As simple as what the title states.
Just curious.

Personally, not sure I would want the car back.

Have had a car recovered via Netstar once before and since then... No NEVER AGAIN.

Insurance, repaired the interior. Gear lock was on as well and the gearbox and engine borked (Not covered by insurance). Fast forward couple of months later. Pulled off in a road block, "Sir are you aware you're driving a stolen car?" Car gets impounded and we're taken to the police station. Wife brings all the proof of ownership for the vehicle, we're released. Endless issues trying to get the S mark removed from the vehicle. Done eventually. 2 year later try and renew the vehicle's license disc - Sorry sir, we're unable to renew the disc as the vehicle is reported stolen... Again the whole remove S from system issue.

Sell the car and want to do transfer of ownership... Sorry Sir, car is marked as stolen... AGAIN got that issue resolved and car transferred. I'm sure whoever the owner of that vehicle is now probably still has that problem with it...
