Was at cape town branch a week ago and they said they wouldn't be selling to the public for much longer, does this include the MYBB account, and im assuming signing up for this COD account makes us non public buyers?

I registered and got an account no from them when this thread was started but no password which means I can't login on their site to see the catalogue.

To all you guys complaining, Do you also hate Cyberdyne for selling to the Public? Sybaritic still resells Cyberdyne stuffs!

Also, Esquire are a bit of a Reseller themselves, they source stuff from all the other suppliers if they need to. so maybe you should stop complaining and pay the R1500 for Pinnacle, or go pray to the Rectron Gods for a successfull application.

Besides Hardware markups are so low these days anyway, so why not make money where it can be made! SUPPORT!

Sheesh - that rant came out of the left field!

I understood their offer to be directed at MyBB members in their private capacity for bits & pieces - not a licence to start reselling.

If they've changed their mind because their resellers are bitching all they need to do is say so in this thread

I guess, but dude... why would the others be complaining then? As far as i remember Resellers have done forumites the favour of purchasing at cost plus shipping for ages!

But for the record, Esquire have very relaxed terms for signing people up! I bet you and I could walk into a branch and buy on a COD Account. (MyBB offer excluded)
From a business point of view i couldn't really be bothered! If people know what they are doing, who am I to charge a premium on something that they can do anyways, its the stuff they don't know how to do where there is money to be made.

That's why I believe the Idea of making profits on Hardware sales alone died a very long time ago... but maybe thats just me!

Nope, I agree, here in the Eastern Cape I advise my clients to purchase from their local resellers wherever possible because price comes a distant second to "on the spot" support AND keeps the local economy going.

The last thing you need in a business environment is carry-in support just because you scored a few Rands on the price.

Not exactly. If you receive the weekly price lists, you will note that (more often than not) there is a statement to the effect that if you buy items in bulk - you can speak to the sales agent and negotiate a better price.

Us MYBB members will generally buy one of an item and therefore pay a slightly higher price.

Listed price for HDD: R429
30 units: R427 each.
No advantage of buying bulk for us. We just support other distributors.

Jip, I laughed when they told me the price as well. I walked across the road to Pinnacle.
