To the dealers whom are bitching:

Why exactly are you bitching? Is it because you realize that you add no value and the only reason someone would buy from you is because you have a reseller account? If that is the case I question your reason for existing. Perhaps you should think of things you could be doing to improve your store rather than complain.

MyBB makes up a small volume of total people in SA. Most of the sheeple will still buy from their local store (because they don't know any better or buy on impulse), but hey the reseller model failed in the US in terms of computer hardware, just about all sales there are directly from distributors whom buy from the manufacturers. I think that as soon as someone starts up a decent web-site with good service that does exactly that, it'll completely destroy the current market. I almost always buy from the cheapest (unless I know they really suck at service). After all, they only send the components to my door. That was the total of value added. Shipping. And even with that they just act as middleman. No point to the model when it comes to computer hardware/software IMHO.

The only model that makes sense in my mind is Manufacturer(s) -> Distributor(s) -> Customer(s). Since the Manufacturer deals with warranty anyway, the distributors only purpose is to keep stock, check that something is actually broken and deal with shipping. SA end user stores don't keep stock, don't usually have the skills to properly handle checking hardware and only negotiate shipping on your behalf. Out with them I say.

Just my 2c on the whole situation.

nicely written argument

I can only agree with you on this subject

Hi All

Sorry to revive an old thread , but just found out from a MyBB member that registered again yesterday , only to realise that he was already registered since January 2011
what we both found out that the screen shot of the account profile that was emailed to his Gmail account was blocked , hence he never got the notification that his account was already open , so if you have emailed your details to Bongiwe@esquire.co.za or Mariam@esquire.co.za and still got no reply or notification, please PM me and please check your email settings , I know my ladies have been doing between 30 to 50 per day and according to them they are done up until this evening before they left for home

Those MyBB members who do not know to get your own COD account with us look at my signature below, so you do not miss out on our biggest Birthday specials on June 16th , 17th and 18TH.

Regards
ESQ

Hi Esquire

Still have not received any emails. Also if I want to retrieve my password with my registered email, the Esquire webpage says the email account is not registered. I'm confused:confused:

@Jalize I now understand what the problem is

Step 1) Firstly: The Fast Track Registration is to open up your own personal COD account with Esquire for trading with our Sales teams in your region or in our Xpress Stores , once this is done we then sent you the confirmation that your account is open
( I have confirmed that the email was sent to you)

Step 2 )Secondly: Once your COD Account is opened , you then have to follow the registration process for the Online Ordering , with the Account number that was allocated to you in Step 1

Once all the details are verified your Online Ordering account is activated ,for you to order online .

Just a word of advise to those registering for the online store, and it may seem silly, but do not choose a password, that is very long. When you register on the site, there is no problem in choosing a password, but when you are activated, and you key in the password ( mine was 26 characters long), it will say that you entered the wrong one. I think I got a bald patch from pulling my hair out during the 2 hours of checking and rechecking my typing. Now I am saying this to maybe decrease the load on Esquire, since they were very helpful in fixing the issue.( Please note that there is no button to enable you to choose a different password) and there are many people trying to get an account. Anyway, I hope to send in my orders soon. Thankyou !

@Bar0n

Yes we work on weekends and I normally work until 3 am every day ( been doing this for last 15 yrs)
your COD account is already opened and you should have already received an email from bongiwe@esquire.co.za this morning on the details of your account , once you get that, you can call or email a sales person for quotes or place orders , however to order Online you need to now register on the Online Ordering site with the details you were emailed by Bongiwe , once we get it and verify it, you will be activated to place orders online , but in the meantime you can place orders with any sales person telephonically or go to any Xpress shop to purchase , also note that you can used this account number in any branch as all branches are linked to central server , i.e. If you based in Gauteng and go on holiday to Cape town you can purchase from the at branch with the same account number ,so there is no need to opened up separate accounts in each region.

A lot of people, myself included use password managers that generate and save the password for you.

I don't even know my internet banking password, it being 32 characters, or any of my passwords. I only know 1 password, my LastPass password.

@Esquire, is it possible for us to phone in and query the mails being sent? Also I discovered an old esquire account a family friend had a while back, he is no longer using this account, can I make use of his or do I need my own?

Pm sent
