Sorry I forgot the bit about going private. Only car I referred to that was for sale privately was the 1.8 petrol Astra for sale in Robertson. Enjoy trim models do come with armrest, have all round electric windows and 6 airbags. I never got the armrest thing until owning a car that has one.
Alas, if you are going to spend that kind of money and don't mind so much for high mileage my first choice would still be a W203 Class. Just look at that mint condition 2003 C180K with less than 150,000km on the clock going for R82k. Way better deal than the 2008 Astra 1.8 which has 166,000km covered.

Accord Exec, finding one with relatively low mileage is a bit more difficult than finding a B7 A4 though
What derivative does he have? I see a few of the recently posted well-priced Accords have disappeared over the last week, should indicate how quickly they sell.
The MP3 thing is an issue that's cheaply and easily solved by adding Bluetooth with an x-car link and using your phone. Better than outdated MP3 cds.
R80K for a 2007 A4 B7 is really great value though and very tempting, but what's the condition of one of those like? Definitely seems like a bargain if it's in decent nick.
this is a bmw 320 2011 model
There are a few 1.4 polo trendline(not vivo) and a vw jetta aswell
have a look on carfind.co.za aswell
Yip, all very worthy, but the B7 is effectively the B6 facelift, much the same cars. Except a B6 costs about half.B7 will depreciate more, meaning I lose more. B6 has already gone through most of its depreciation, so I lose less and have as quality a ride.
Wow u have done your homework. I would just pick the colour I like

Father had a 2.5 TDI. He took it to dealers to do everything at the time so that wasn't the best idea... The C6 was never popular - hence why it's not sold.I did see this one. Pity it's in Worcester, over 100km away from me. Could maybe ask to meet in Paarl. It has been advertised for ±1 month already which makes me a bit wary. Could be due to the distance, and being undesirable...
A4 Avant would be nice, they're quite scarce. Would worry a bit about an A6...
What do you think?

Very good car and am on the lookout for one myself, the type S 2008 model.CL7 (2006 to 2008) Honda Accord 2.4L Type S, or CL7 (2006 to 2008) Honda Accord 2.4L Executive manual (the auto is a bit of a dog).
If you're lucky you can pick up a nice example for between R85,000 and R100,000. It has all the bells and whistles (especially the executive with it's sunroof, premium sound etc.) and looks great (especially the Type S). It's comfortable, frugal for it's size and engine (especially for highway cruising) and incredibly safe. It's more than spacious enough for 4 adults + luggage and is the physical manifestation of Honda reliability. It has enough power to be fun and shrug off load with easy (towing is a breeze). It also has a slight air of exclusivity, it's not as common as many other cars on your list.
We've got two in the family, both 2006 models. One has around 120,000kms on the clock, the other 230,000+kms on the clock. Even the high mileage one still feels solid, quiet and comfortable.
Servicing is not particularly expensive even at a dealership, though there are a few great independents that will give exceptional service. Parts can be a bit pricy, but you won't need them often (if at all beyond regular servicing). Spark plugs are the only high expense (around R1,000 for a set of 4 OEM plugs), but they last 120,000kms between changes so it really does balance out. Alternatives are available for a better price.
It's taken most of the depreciation hit already, so another 50,000 to 100,000kms won't take too much off the value. In fact the value between our two accords is probably only around R20,000 despite one having double the mileage of the other. Plus they sell quickly if priced correctly (don't listen to salesmen who try feed you bull**** about how it'll stand around for a while, when I was shopping all of the good ones were sold within a month, it's still the case now).
Feel free to send any other questions this way.
I currently have one and it is a great car. But boot space will be a problem and the engine is not that powerful. 72 kw if im not mistaken, hence my post aboveTwo words. Hyundai Getz.
