Sister Christian, that's the one,...

You are so right, the topic should read, " the best top ten 80's songs that just popped into your head!"

As albert Hammond from the 70's sings free electric band!

Impossible to be true, but point of order Mickey... Solsbury Hill was released in 1977. It was on Gabriel's first album, "Car". I know this 'cos its my favorite song of all time... Ever. Number two is Seger's 'Till It Shines but we'd still be talking about the 70's then.

So, top ten(ish) 80's tunes... I'ma splitting it up as well... US and UK...Here we go, Stateside first:

Brilliant Disguise - Bruce Springsteen
The Boys Of Summer - Don Henley
Faithfully - Journey
Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through - Jim Steinman
Midnight Blue - Lou Gramm
Shame - The Motels
When Your Heart Is Weak - Cock Robin
Waiting On A Friend - The Stones
Talk To Me - Stevie Nicks
Slippery People - Talking Heads

This side of the pond:

Oh Yeah! - Roxy Music
Mercy Street - Peter Gabriel
King Of Pain - Police
Speak Like A Child - Style Council
Only You - Yazzo
The Chaffeur - Duran Duran
Rise To The Occasion - Clime Fisher
Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home) - Paul Young
Angel Of Harlem - U2
Las Palabras De Amor - Queen

It's torture figuring what to leave out. I can make another two US and UK lists easily...

Somewhere in a remote street, in a quiet corner of PE, there is a toppie singing ABBA songs......

/as the Moose wails out Knowing Me, Knowing You....

Europe and the rest of the world! Damn, should have done a third list!

And it excludes the hard rock stuff that I also enjoy.

I'd imagine. Been a while since I bought an actual CD. Ripped 'em all and they live in a Seagate now... Pretty sure I could make up just about all of those albums with tracks I already have.

So, as an Apple guy, when Steve said we don't like internal CD drives, I said okay. When he said we don't like DVDs and we prefer iTunes downloads, I said what the hell, I'm in. Still get what you're saying 'tho.
